I have developed an apparently toxic habit of constantly making suicide jokes and my roommate is demanding I stop, but I don't know how to stop as its one of my few coping mechanisms I enjoy.

Tell your jokes here, and some Reddit subs - r/trollcoping, for example. If you're suffering from other things, PTSD, C-PTSD, Bipolar, Autism, etc etc. there's meme subreddits for those and others, too. Seek out memes, and make your own, if/when you think of any. That's how I've expressed myself in a way that doesn't put me at risk IRL, for three years now. No good can come of seeking validation like this IRL.
