So I am in a much better mood at the moment thanks to autism being excited about hyper-fixating on wanting to make things again but it makes it really hard to go to sleep. My brain just wants to keep thinking about it and I can only go to sleep if I am not thinking about much. I don't know how to stop it especially as it makes me happy but the lack of sleep makes me more physically tired and I am concerned that will bring me down again. How do I go to sleep more easily with my brain going full autistic mode?

I go to a gym 5 or 6 times a week. Aerobics burns the mental stress off and weights exhaust the body. Together they ensure I go to sleep quickly and stay asleep all night.

Playing classical music low in the background also helps take my mind off of what I'm ruminating about.

I am not a fan of exercise and don't gain much from it aside to walk my dog. Also it doesn't really effect my mental energy that much and only my physical energy.

I have tried lots of different sounds and musics to calm me down but my brain is so hyper active.

Maybe some sleeping pills? I use them as a last resort when my brain won't shut up and let me sleep. Another thing I do to stop the racing thoughts is listening to audiobooks or podcasts, I listen to stuff that I already know so I don't keep myself awake, but it's still distracting enough to stop thinking.

I probably won't be able to get sleeping pills at all cus my family is against them and probably can't get them myself cus of them trapping me home and not being able to by stuff freely even with my own money. Maybe audio books could work if I have already listened to them but I have never listened to any audio books so guess I should listen to some then if I want to use this method of falling to sleep more easily.

I just about always have something on in the background to sleep on YouTube. Rain sounds usually. To try and stop my mind ruminating. There are loads of channels that produce relaxing content, meditations, ASMR. Some people find some of it creepy but, I think you just have to try a bunch out to see what you like. Some are more likely to keep you awake! Also, you need to make sure there aren't loud adverts at the end or throughout.

A small amount of alcohol just before bed makes me sleepy too. Not that I probably should be recommending that!
