Help How do I ask for euthanasia if I survive with brain damage ?

In my country there is legal euthanasia I plan to partial hang but I fear it will result in brain damage so if I fail and got brain damage, will they consider the suicide note as a valid request?. The official info that Im reading is very confusing and long and I cannot resolve my doubts with what they say there. they say it requires a formal request, but if I leave a suicidial note, what will they do with it? ?

"If I survive and am paralyzed by brain damage, I want to receive euthanasia. I leave this as an official request for euthanasia in case I survive with any disability that prevents me from being able to express myself, in which case what I have expressed here is irrevocable and I demand that what I have asked for be carried out without interference from my family or doctors or any other

Reason: Being disabled in the way I have said is a cause of unbearable psychical pain for me, it makes me horrofied and I totally refuse to allow others to decide to keep me alive like this against my will. I want everything possible to be done to carry out what I have asked for. The fact that in my condition I cannot express myself does not imply that my will will change, and that is why I would never commit suicide in the first place if I ran the risk of surviving in such conditions. Not carrying out what I have asked for here should be considered a crime."

I'm really sorry about your condition. Sounds like you're doing the best you can but I have never seen anything but failure on this website from partial hanging.

Would an attorney in your country be willing to advise you?

That depends on legislation wherever you live (which is something that you probably shouldn't share specific info about)

It is well written to me, but I am not a legal expert / lawyer. I wonder if there is a forum with lawyers you can ask this question to, as it is a good one.

I understand... my question is when you say ask a lawyer, you mean I should mention it is for ctb? it is not dangerous?

Don't tell me that, now everyone says that partial is a bad method, and when I was new to the forum many people told me that partial would work if done right, I had been ciphering my hopes on my partial plan for months erroneously? :-(

If someone ends up in a state where they can no longer care for themselves or express themselves, I imagine a lot of decision making falls on the parents or family/next of kin.

Leaving a note behind relies on whoever finds the note honouring your instructions. If it's your loved ones and you already doubt they would support you in the right to die, I'm not sure, it's kind of unknown.

I guess you could send a delayed email to someone official like a solicitor. But yeah- speaking to one beforehand would make it obvious what you were about to do.

I really don't know if people are obliged to follow such instructions though. Obviously, there are things like 'Do Not Resuscitate' orders. You'd really hope that our family members would honour our wishes but I'm not sure they are legally obliged to.

Plus, there's the whole mental capacity card. Will they simply say that wanting suicide is a symptom of mental illness so- that person isn't in a position to make decisions like that? Obviously, I disagree with that but- I'm sure they would use that.

Do you really think your parents or loved ones would keep you alive- no matter what your condition?

Speak to a lawyer but tell them you want to plan for your future end of life choice. Don't tell them your plans, tell them you're planning for different possible scenarios - paralysed, dementia, brain damaged etc. and ask them how you can get euthanasia arranged now for a potential future medical condition.

As far as I know most coutries require that a person that wants eutanasia has to be in full possession of their mental powers, at the moment when they want to be killed. This is not the case if you have a brain damage. On the other hand, you could write a patient decree, that all live-sustaining measures has to be turned off, if there is no chance that you come back from the coma. But you don´t know how sever you brain damage will be.

By the way, full hanging if done right will kill you with a probability of almost 100%.

Your best bet is to research a method that has a minimal chance of brain damage or look for ways to mitigate risks of failure. I wouldn't count on the chance of euthanasia incase of a failure. There are a few cases out there of failed suicide attempts with an aftermath of permanent damage that prove this same point.

What an extreme bullshit that the request has to be made by a person with full faculties, it seems like a measure that directly excludes suicidals with bad intentions, well, then "euthanasia" is another damn fraud that almost certainly only exists for hidden interests and not to alleviate the suffering of those who really need it, I'm sure!FUCK THE SANITARY SYSTEM!!! One more example of how suicides are treated like de facto criminals, and if possible they wish us the worst of fates and they don't tremble to create the most horrible torture possible for us so that people see what a bad idea it is to want to commit suicide right? god every day everything is more absurd and unreal, I don't know what to do anymore its driving me crazy seriosly.

I'm not sure about the technicalities in your country, but in many countries a handwritten suicide note will not stand for something like this. In the US, for example, a DNR has to be notorized by a public notary and in some cases a practicing physician as well as the person who must be in the right state of mind to be signing it. A handwritten note requesting euthanasia may well not be of any help depending on the laws in your country. It may need to be done with more technicality with the assistance of a lawyer to explain the laws of your country.

Full hanging causes unconsciusness within 5 to 15 seconds whilst the urge to breathe becomes unbearabel beyond 30 seconds. Concerning an anchor point you should ask a friend with manual skills. You can tell him that you need a stable hook in the ceiling for your workout.
