If every single one of us, along with anyone else we know who has expressed suicidial ideations, showed up at psych wards at the same day and time, (a) it'd be nice to meet some of you IRL and (b) it could really highlight just how many of us are out here.

Of course, there's absolutely no f'ing way that I'd ever willingly subject myself to psych prison, even for those reasons, and I'm sure that I'm not the only one.

That should be the least of your worries, unless you are in that line of work, you know...swiping out the suicidals.
Maybe like a Suicide Squad? I'll let myself out…

It may be a little hard to track every single person down here and probably too much expensive for it to be beneficial I think, it's the internet where information flows everywhere anyways, can't control the internet

Still good thing they don't, it'd be atrocious if they started to take people down

Something tells me law enforcement could not do much in the cases of majority of people in here even if they could match specific posts to specific IP addresses. Just mentioning that a person wishes to peacefully die one day because of serious problems is not grounds to be hospitalized immediately. A person would need a specific plan and an attempt to die at this very moment for the authorities to do anything.

I am no lawyer, but even those cases where users ask about specific methods directly would be difficult to deal with, wouldn't they? Wouldn't the authorities have to, after finding a particular home or address, prove that specific posts were written from a specific device by a specific person? A process like this would require a lot of warrants that might not even be granted in the first place...because on what grounds would they be?

This seems like an awful lot of work for people who have almost no time on their hands with limited resources having to deal with much worse while maybe secretly wishing they were drinking cool drinks on a beach. Putting that many resources towards an effort for an outcome with a low likelihood of success, especially in cases where no crime has been committed, seems like something nobody would like to do. They would rather go after Dark Web websites.

I think a better question is why we feel the need to immediately lock up any person who feels so much pain in life that they want to die? Like I get it, but most of the time psych wards can just make it worse. If a person feels this way it is a sign that something drastic must change in their life, and for a lot of people, that just is not possible. This world is sick, it's not our fault. This place at least lets us talk about that fact openly. We are the fallout of a world that was not built for us, and so of course they just want to put us through yet another system that really won't do anything beneficial and just forget about it. They won't change the system. People should at least have a choice.

How come people who post here aren't tracked and put in mental hospital or something?

especially the ones who are serious and asking for detailed advice
Even when I did end up in A&E for an attempt and required 8 stitches I wasn't hospitalized, I was sent home after a mental health assessment 12 hours later. For some reason they thought I was fine to go home where I lived by myself.

I'm not a lawyer but I think if that were to happen, it would amount to cyber-stalking. A (US) Federal crime.
I know that at least one of our mods was harassed by someone recently🌹💔

Depending on where you live in the world: the "powers that be" might not care enough to stop individuals who have a history of online suicidal behaviour; alternatively: they do care but lack the resources to apprehend so many people.

I live in a region where people who actually want to live do not even receive adequate help, so it is doubtful that suicidal individuals take a high priority either.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Assuming this is hosted in the United States, to get a user's information, you'll need a warrent that someone on here is committing a crime or significant evidence that they are. Suicide isn't a crime in of itself. Many social medias comply with police with suicide related reports regardless if they deem the threat is severe without a warrant, SaSu doesn't.

Also to be locked up where I live you need to be actively suicidial and if not locked up right this second, you'd likely CTB. Casual suicidial thoughts aren't enough.

This exactly.

I heard rumors that if you announce in the forum that you'll CTB, the authorities may check up on you soon after. Can anyone confirm if this happened?

The government isn't tracking individual posters from this forum anywhere near that closely.

*smile nice thread.

Expense to track everyone down.
Expense to put everyone in a hospital, hell thats just for mental health crowd.
Expense of keeping the physically dieing from dieing.
The truly treasure intensive of dealing with some people that are already dialed in and ready to go.
The truth, some of us werent really wanted anyway so time to move on.

And lastly because I have a bottle of superglue, spare it some thought superglue is a good deterrent.

为什么在这里发帖的人没有被追踪并被送进精神病院或别的什么地方?

尤其是那些认真并寻求详细建议的人
我倒是想被这样对待,但是我的父母需要交钱我就不想了。。

Mental health "experts" believe that this website causes the "problem". And so, it's far more worthwhile to them to just try and get the website shut down, than to try and get ahold of our IP addresses (which would require hacking into the database, or cooperation from the admins). Most of them would just be from proxies anyway.

Same "experts" were pushing out studies suggesting SSRIs can modulate tumors. Then they had a mass recall of antidepressants due the chemical impurity of the manufacturing process N-nitroso-duloxetine, which belongs to a group of chemicals called nitrosamines, which is used in pesticides.

These experts will say and do anything that gets them more funds.

This is because announcers will also tell their friends. Thats why you never announce it. We have had moderators announce it. Some were never seen again and some returned after a stay at the hospital.

Because that would be abduction which is usually illegal.
Also if people could be committed for thinking or discussing taboo subjects you'd need 5x the manpower and space to keep them locked away.

It's easier to point at this site and sling blame than it is to actually invest time and resources to improve quality of life.

They can't help people socially because it wouldn't improve the economy. Remember that we live in a complex tribe where we just care about the economy not people. They don't give a fuck about some suicide. The most help they can give is selling you medical treatments that will destroy your liver and a portion of your brain. But then they blame you when you decide to not get the treatment. Our society is pathetic. From top to bottom. You can maybe find some good singular person but the whole system is rotten as one can be.

When I was in crisis, being seen at the psych hospital by the crisis team, they made a pitch to convince me to not want to be inpatient at their hospital lol

I was hallucinating daily, the psychiatrist doubled my already high dosage of meds, and in the same breath shouted at me saying I had to go back to work or I'd be fired. I was crying and had to beg her to not force me back to work as I genuinely couldn't work.

This is how much they care when it is someone REACHING OUT for help. Now imagine how much they care when it's a ton of people just talking about suicide and methods on an anonymous forum.

As a law enforcement officer, I find it adorable that you think anyone, anywhere has the resources for that.

Even if it weren't for the fact that everyone under the age of 80 and over the age of 12 uses a VPN, whose jurisdiction do you think that would actually be? Under what legislation?

You can't just lock people up for saying they want to die. Fuck me, it's hard enough to get permission to act on a public post relating to criminal activity made by a named individual on social media, never mind all the hoops you'd have to jump through to justify hunting down some anonymous individual in an unknown location because they were sad.

Without a court order you'd be breaking a shitload of laws and nobody is going to grant that.

I am 26 and I don't use a VPN. What are they gonna do? Come here at my house? Detain me for what? I am not crazy, I can talk to a doctor for hours without breaking. I am just tired I am not schizophrenic. They built a shitty world and they created individualism so strong that no one cares about no one else anymore. Everything is a race on who is better than who. We don't have an objective. World politics is crumbling. The environment is unsustainably getting worse and worse. I am not an imbecile, I have my reasons to hate this world. Are they gonna put a pill in my mouth by force every day? Ahahahah I want to see them doing that. They cannot even detain criminals because we want to be 'good'…
