There have been many fatal accidents involving people using microwave oven transformers (MOTs) to try to produce Lichtenberg figures:



MOTs are particularly dangerous because they can deliver substantial current (0.5-1A) at 1800-2200v. This doesn't mean that it's going to be reliable as a means to deliberately CTB, and may cause serious injury. It's also going to be extremely painful and may result in severe burns. I wouldn't recommend it. You don't want to end up like this case:
