This is a late reply, but I fucking hate that cliche. Depressed people are always tempted to take the easy way through their troubles, and this line practically glorifies suicide as a "permanent solution". It accomplishes the exact opposite of what normies want it to.

Oh so we are playing the who has suffered the worst here now. You started the thread belittling anyone who reaches out to help. Not sure I said anywhere you were faking but you did post to get a reaction.

I don't invalidate anyones suffering especially yours which sounds horrific but I do wonder why helping people is so frowned upon, yes nothing might work for you but it might work for someone else, but you of course know that.

@hotelbeneathground I am so sorry for your experiences, I absolutely understand why these sayings are meaningless to you, and I agree most of them do suck. But I think I also agree that even though this thread is funny as hell that that some of these shitty platitudes or even asking for help and actually receiving the right kind of help that isn't useless bs like this or abusive mental healthcare is all a joke and not worth it. I know it may not be worth it to you but it could be for some.

None of the SS members are children; I assure you that we have all heard & read all of these clichés a thousand times already... We laugh at them in order not to cry because people like you don't truly listen to us, don't understand us & invalidate our experiences. This forum is a tiny, hard-to-find pro-choice island in an ocean of mainstream anti-choice resources for the suicidal. We have all swum & almost drowned in that ocean. If you want to learn how to effectively reach out to suicidal people, read some of @Persephone ❦ 's comments. In fact, I suggest you read as many of her posts as you can to find out what this community is all about at its best. I know it's impossible for you to believe it, but this forum has actually saved many lives.

Agree with everything except the "people like you" comment. You do not know me, I'm sorry you feel I am incapable of listening, but that is untrue. I've never invalidated any experiences, and I don't ever claim to understand what it feels like. I know what my own experiences have been like, and I am sure there are a fair handful of people on this site who are like me. I also am not sure why you think I abhor this forum, I think it serves a great purpose. I think you took my first post way out of context as force but you have me all wrong.
