I've made up my mind! I'll make a real attempt to CTB this week! I'm stuck between two options though

The first one is to drown in a reservoir. It's in a park I really like and I'd love to ctb there. Also I won't accidentally hit someone if I choose drowning as my method as opposed to jumping from a tall building. However I am scared of live fishes… so I'm worried.

The other one is to jump from a car park. I've been paying attention to the car parks in my city the last week, most of them are 5-6 stories tall, while jumping is ideal for me (I think death is relatively painless?) but last thing I want is to end up paralysed or hitting someone or giving someone PTSD

Mannnn I wish I could go peacefully but chemicals are not so accessible. I'd be fine with suuuper painful deaths as long as it is poison. I am considering cyanide but I can't find resources on methods related to cyanide. Thanksssss!!!!

I keep hearing that death by drowning is incredibly painful. Maybe someone else could confirm to this? Also, how would one do this? How would you counter the survival instinct?

Only you can decide whats best for you if you make the decision to check out. Nobody can or should choose for you.

All I'll say is 5-6 stories is not high enough, in my opinion. You take a very serious risk of severe injury.

Briefly dated a woman who worked in a psych unit. She told me of a patient she had who was female, small and petite.

Jumped from a thirteenth story and survived.

Take it how you will.

What? Did she say on what she fell?

If I knew which method (except barbiturates) to use, I wouldn't even be here, but I'll comment based on my research: Both of your options are terrible. I think you should research more about it.

I don't know I'll just be jumping into it and hope it works lmaoooo

It's a pretty big reservoir, I do know how to swim, but I've seen successful suicides in that location so it might actually work haha. There are two ways to drown, you either hold your breath in water for so long you pass out, or you inhale the water into your lungs, and you die from the lack of oxygen.

if nobody's there to "rescue" you you will inevitably die as long as you stay in the water, due to exhaustion. Just make sure there's no shore you could swim to I guess

read sticky threads and write something till you have search function. making up your mind is a start, but make sure that you really die from that method. And don't underestimate that your SI are very strong and the useless body of yours, which is dragging our diseases minds is hard to kill off. If you don't want to end in a wheelchair or something like that, give life another chance. It will not easy to off yourself. Otherwise we wouldn't need that board. Additionally no one will help you to find a method. All we can do is say, that we know the suffering and how painful it is.

don't be impulsive. I know how much depression pushes you, but you are still in control. Do it the right way. As others said, both methods seem terrible. I was like you, wanted to die asap. I am still here. Not because my pain has subsided. I realized, i need to do it the right way. I need to find a way which is not guranteed, because no method is, but which is good for ME. And that is individual. I mean, you can go with your methods. But this is a support board. And i also consider both things very highly on the failure list. All we want is that you don't suffer even more after a failed suicide attempt.

I know but I don't really give a shit at this point. I'm so dysfunctional even online shopping gives me terrible anxiety. I can't order anything online and I really don't want to hang myself. I don't mind a painful death as long as I know it's going to work.

My options are extremely limited I'm a student and I live with controlling parents. I don't even have a job. So yeah.

True, but due to my conditions my options are extremely limited, still, thanks for the advice

What? Did she say on what she fell?
The ground.

That's why I say to take it how you will. People fall, trip, hit the ground and that's it.

Then you have examples like the one I gave.

My guess is the biggest factor, either way, is hitting your head.

Yeah, the fact she survived with that being the case was wild and was essentially her point. It was just casual talking about her job when we were dating so it wasn't a scare tactic or anything.

I don't have it in me to jump to begin with, but that put me off of jumping, period.
