Hi everybody, thank you for accepting me on to your site. I am from the UK. I have lost my job, relationship is on the rocks and I've been diagnosed with ADHD - but apart from the diagnosis the NHS is terrible at support.

Greets from a fellow person in UK! I sympathise with you, I don't work atm due to very bad mental health problems and I'm on medication for it as well. I also lost my ex girlfriend (ex fiancee actually because I was engaged to her) and yeah, my life is a mess. I don't want to be in this hell anymore.

Sorry you are going through this. The NHS is in crisis.
I had to wait 2 weeks for a doctor's appointment.
The Doctor said there was nothing more he could do for me, except make a psychiatrists appointment.
The appointment is in January 2025
I will be fucking dead by then.

I honestly don't understand it.

Suppose each appointment is an hour long. That's 7 people that can be seen by a consultant per day (1 hour break, secretary writes up notes).
That's 49 people a week, excluding public holidays.
That's 2,548 people per year.
You've got to wait 2.5 years, implying there is approximately 6,370 people ahead of you.

Bear in mind that's not 6,370 people using mental health services as a whole, as that would be believable. That's the number of people referred to the exact same service as you. Suddenly becomes unbelievable...

It's not being managed properly.

the NHS had me on a waiting list for therapy for 3 months - before they eventually just unloaded me onto Dr Julian online therapy (basically just another Better Help).

i attended only two of the calls before deciding that the conversation was of absolutely zero substance, and that it was a waste of my time.

the therapist i spoke to was terribly cold and clinical, and was pressuring me to answer questions that i didn't know how to answer - it did not feel like a supportive environment.

I don't expect decent results from our current extreme right wing government/administration, we need a Green Party/Labour coalition government in my opinion, but religious retards and religious boomers will continue to vote for the current turd of a government we have right now.

The NHS is so broken. My personal story is that I struggle with debilitating physical health issues. I couldn't get any help from the doctor so tried to ctb. I ended up seeing people who deal with mental health and spent 3 days in a psych ward which was totally not what I needed so I was taking up the space of someone who could have benifited. 7 months later I've finally seen someone who has helped with my physical problems
