We were soo happy, I know I did a lot of things wrong but you can't just leave me with all of the memories we have made.

Here's what I've learned about relationships in the 21st century: They're transactional and the moment things require work, people leave then go to a dating site and find someone. It's as easy as ordering a pizza. Then the cycle begins again. There's no loyalty. There's no integrity. There's no acceptance. There's no more partnership. It's truly heartbreaking if you truly want to love someone.

Here's the thing. There are people like you and me who know how to love. They understand empathy. They understand that relationships aren't always 50-50 because sometimes your partner falls and you have to carry the weight until they get back on their feet.

The problem is that, like us, they have been hurt so much that they are afraid to love because they are afraid to be vulnerable again.

I gave so much in my last relationship that I had nothing left for myself when it was over. That level of vulnerability is difficult to move past.
