So I understand the basic method of doing this, positioning two thick cloths on your carotid arteries and then choking yourself out basically.

But whenever I try, I cannot get to the point where I begin to lose consciousness. I'll find the place in my neck where I feel the strongest pulse, put the cloth and rope directly on there and apply pressure, but I just can't breathe. I have zero sensation of blacking out or losing any awareness. I'm a woman, so no Adam's Apple but I'm placing them right above where it would be, since that's where I can find the strongest pulse. I feel so stupid, and I NEED to know that I have a reliable exit plan. I've seen the mega threads and the charts and photos, but still no luck.

no worries; even when you feel your strongest pulse, you've still got to find that one sweet spot

this is one thing many have struggled with; even myself

matter of trying, could take ten attempts, hundred attempts or more

and yea, how more attempts the less hopeful you are in this method

been there done that

How big/small should the cloth be? Is it more about finding the sweet spot rather than putting more pressure? Should I be able to breathe while I do it? Is there a way for me to practice on myself with just my hands?

ive done several attempts and was only able to nearly pass out twice, pressure is just as important. i used socks filled with rice

as far as i could find w my research online, u should be able to get a dizzy / weakened feeling by putting pressure on it w ur fingers. but that never worked for me

the entire thing isnt easy to do; which is also said in diff threads on this forum, it really requires a shitload of time, effort & patience and well, luck; you'll also need that

Oh man this is such a a hard method. I tried to find the right spot for months a couple years ago before I gave up on it. You're actually reigniting my interest in it.

I practiced and can do it almost flawlessly now, but the catch is that I have been holding the rope in my hands to test instead of using a set up.

I put the rope higher around my neck in the Adams apple area and then wrapped it tightly and pulled upwards. The key here for me was that I wasnt able to do it with horizontal pressure at all, so fingers never worked for me.

No idea why but it just proves to me that the suspension part is necessary, I probably wouldn't be able to just wrap something real tight around my neck and then pass out and die lol. SI is really strong though and when I become too weak to hold the rope I just fall down without passing out.

I'm currently having the same issue. Managed to do it before, but it suddenly just disappeared from my skill tree or whatever. Sucks.

Heyyy, you succeed in the most difficult part! The rest can be solved relatively easy (for example, other part of belt/rope/strap can be wedged between door/closet frame, like Robin Williams did, for instance). Also, a piece of advice-any benzos or midazolam or any pill can help out when panic kicks in.

Could you please please elaborate in greater detail, if possible, for us who are not that lucky? Thanks!
