Chances are they wouldn't be here if they were hanging via full suspension AND lost consciousness.

I've seen people on this forum say they survived because they were saved during the hanging

I tried it once but stopped the attempt before passing out. I used a neck tie attached to a hook on the ceiling and just an ordinary knot (I was drunk that evening, otherwise I would have used a slipknot and maybe have been successful). I stepped down from a chair and hanged for about 1-2 minutes before somehow getting back on the chair. I had a bad pain on my neck and a red face for a couple of days

I'm surprised the tie held. How much do you weigh?.. More importantly though, how did it feel during? Obviously not that pleasant, but could you be more specific please?

I've never tried, but that's how I intend to go. I've been doing a bunch of research hoping to get a peaceful end and not screw it up. Sadly, the opinions seem to be mixed. Some people say it's excruciating and you not being able to breath is terrible, others say it's peaceful and they passed out before ever even realizing they needed air. The good news though is that out of the posts from people who actually tried it, more seem to lean toward not too bcsad rather than horrible. If you ever test it out or anything (I'm not really sure how you would), let me know how it goes

I was surprised too, but it did. I weigh about 90kg.
I felt very uncomfortable. There was pressure on my neck, but it just didn't feel like I might pass out any time soon. Maybe I would have if I had waited a bit longer. It was hard to breathe but I could still a little, so my throat wasn't closed completely.
I was also a bit drunk that night, so I can't remember all details any more. It's been some time since, too
