Has anyone tried buspirone as medication? is it good againist anxiety?

I am pretty much at the end of the rope. I started to take benzos again but again wirthdrawal symptoms are kicking in. Not sure whether I will survive that. I noticed I still have roughly 20 pills buspirone here. It is a medication against anxiety. My psychiatrist told me it is not closely as good as benzos. But I am really desperate. I never really tried it.

The problem my psychiatrist is on holidays. And I think it is hard to get it. Even if I go to her after the holidays it will be difficult to get it in time again.
I was not aware but it does not work like benzos. You have to take them 2 weeks before they start working. And you have to take them 2-3 per day.

I take it now since 3 weeks I barely feel any difference mentally. It has a good effect on my sexuality at the same time it might induce hunger. I am not sure whether that's worth it.

My doctor put me on it a long time ago but I didn't notice any effects from it at all except exacerbation of my already existing tinnitus.
