I want to do it through partial hanging. I've read all the information here but I'm confused. Is it possible to lose consciousness before starting to suffocate? Like in the method of ligature strangulation. Is it true that if you take something on the sides of your neck, the pressure on your carotid arteries will be stronger, causing you to lose consciousness within a few seconds? Or full hanging is better? Please sorry if these questions are dumb. I'm planning to do it tonight or tomorrow

Can I ask if you found some information?

what I've found is partial hanging is not really reliable and is more likely to end badly. I'm going full suspension now as it is the most reliable apparently

Thank you for reply, I've also started thinking about a full hanging. But I still want a partial one if it causes less pain

I too am bouncing back and forth between full and partial. From all I have found the key (no matter full or partial) is the carotid arteries. From the videos I have observed it looks like successful hangings the put enough pressure on the rope to pass out and then gravity does its job whether partial or full. With full however there is less chance of regaining consciousness unless you made a mistake with the setup. Like tying it wrong, not a good enough anchor point, not strong enough ligature etc.
I imagine you guys have seen Evelyn's handbook on here? It has a lot of information

Yes I have read her threads but still can't choose. I think full hanging is more painful, isn't it? Thank you for your reply

Just trying to logic it out. If the goal is to not feel pain(or as little as possible) then getting one to pass out quickly whether full or partial is what we are after. Again, just snowballing here, if I can make myself pass out and fall then the rope is going to compress everything including the carotid arteries which is what we are after so I should wake up. So I am thinking full would be best if done properly. Less room for error. Full doesn't mean you have to jump or fall hard. Any thoughts?

hiiii, full is much more reliable . it doesn't matter what knot you do because when you step off the rope slips to the front of your neck, or it should. thicker rope is comfortable too, i have rope and some socks to put around my neck

How many feet and Inches is your rope? i currently settled on 20 ft and 1/2 inches and i don't want to mess up my full suspension.

There was a thread I saw that had videos of "aftermaths" - I can't remember what the thread was called but it's on here somewhere. From those videos, as long as the rope is tight enough around your carotid arteries, you will pass out VERY quickly, I'm talking maybe 5-10 seconds. At that point, it's when you will "suffocate" and start to convulse. But, you wont feel a thing because you're already out.

The key point is not to be found part-way through. If you're somehow "rescued", you could end up in a worse state than when you started and possible at a point where you couldn't attempt anything again yourself.

FSH will always be better, but of course is a little harder to do in an ordinary home due to anchor points - If you can find something that can hold your full body weight, and is off the ground enough that you cannot touch the floor or anything around you, you're golden.

Whatever decision you make, ensuring your carotid arteries are compressed is important.
