I travelled 2900 miles to escape an abusive household which I found myself stuck in for 3 years. Now that I'm in a much safer place, i've been able to process things, and see how rough things truly are. Aside from the horrific mental damage I've sustained (over those 3 years, in addition to much of my life), I now also look in the mirror and see an aged, now balding version of myself (very clearly from prolonged stress). It just feels like the mental stress had me beyond my breaking point, and now I hate what I see in the mirror too. How do I find the positive and motivate myself forward?

I am glad that you escaped that abusive household, that must have taken a lot of guts for you to take a stand and actually leave. I think you need to give yourself grace and acknowledge that you went through hell and back. I believe day by day you can slowly start liking who you see in the mirror, but obviously it may take time. I don't know you, but from this post you seem like a courageous, strong person. I am sending my love to you
