Discussion Going to therapy soon, whats it like?

Im trying therapy. I know im on a website that is a collection of fellow depressed and suicidal people and im probably gonna get a bunch of "oh therapy is useless and shit" and honestly deep down i believe the same thing but regardless im gonna give it a try and hope i figure out why I'm so...me

What is therapy like? What should I know? Just lay it on me!

I think if you're to the point in your life that it won't help, you'll know it already, I certainly did. So maybe the fact that you're asking the question means that it could actually get you to a better place. I hope it does bro

I don't have any insight to offer about being in therapy I'm afraid but I wanted to reach out and say I'm so proud of you for trying! It takes courage and strength to make that leap, I hope you find the answers you're looking for

Therapists and psychologists are not allowed to prescribe medication, only psychiatrists.

Psychiatrists can act as therapists too, but that's mainly a job for counselors and psychologists.

This world sucks so much ass that even some therapists have their own therapists.

That last sentence really sums it up...the world sucks so much ass because it's so fucking stupid that we act like therapists going to therapy makes sense....the people we go to for answers need answers.... like we're all blowing ourselves with a silly smile on our face
