It was a six month, long distance relationship. My 2nd boyfriend and 2nd time I got broken up this year. The relationship was dying. It was dying to the point a codependent like me was getting sick of it. And I always knew the relationship just wasn't going to work. He very obviously hated long distance and couldn't do it.
It's been 3 weeks since he broke up with me. I got a very "it's not you, it's me" speech which makes me think there were other, unspoken reasons. Basically said it was an aimless relationship, he couldn't do long distance anymore, he didn't want to waste my time, too expensive for long distance, etc, etc. Said that as long as he worked in the job he did, which required travel, he'd be forced to do long distance and he hated it.
It's weird. The break up is finally hitting me. I can't say I enjoyed the relationship that much. Like I said, I knew deep down it would fail. I liked the fantasy of being saved by someone, I guess. To be hoisted from shitty situation by someone who made a shit ton more money that both my parents combined. I don't miss him; he was very low energy most of the time. I miss the fantasy. And I hate being alone.
