Getting a girlfriend saved me

I've been friendless and alone my whole life, and it's been always killing me; lately I've been actively suicidal because of it, truly at rock bottom, having horrible mental breakdowns, unable to work, seeing no joy in life, and just wanting to die. But I persevered and stayed hopeful, and kept reaching out to women on dating sites, getting ignored by all but one, who felt sorry for my desperate cries, and invited me over. We're now dating for a few days, and it's going great. I enjoy life again, and my depression is gone.

But here's the fun part, she's not what you would picture in your mind; she's a meth-head, with a daughter from her previous man, she's poor, and not the best looking, but I love her, with her all her baggage. We do drugs together, enjoy each others company, and are both better off together. She's sweet to me and cares about her daughter a lot.

All three of us were to the cinema today, it was wonderful, full of affection the whole time, everyone had a great time. The lesson is, two damaged people can make a great relationship. Don't look down on such women, you can have a great life together.

I feel sorry for you and the child too. You deserve a new partner and the kid deserves new parents.

It's kinda unfair how people can get addicted to drugs, but there's no "addicted to being just" or "addicted to being kind" or "addicted to treating others well".

Also staying true to yourself and not giving her money even though it means you are going back to be alone despite your harsh feelings, I think is extremely admirable.

i feel for you op. this is why it's super important to be able to source happiness on your own/without relying on others, something i struggle with a lot. i also thought that finding someone would cure me, but all it really does is make the times without that person even harder to manage.

i agree with above; your resilience is quite impressive. unfortunately, i think she realized you were an easy target due to your loneliness and desperation, and i hate that she took advantage of you like that. thankfully, it was just a week. i'm happy that she showed her true colors early enough and that you dodged that bullet. please stay strong.

not surprised. those types of women who are willing to stoop low are usually just looking for a provider (especially one on drugs and has a kid)
