  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I think the only thing that's been holding me back for the last three years has been a hope that I might find a very good clue or answer for my chronic pain and other symptoms thru gene sequencing. I finally managed to get enough money and found a cheap but complete service for this. Results will take about a month thou.

I've always felt that it would be such a relief to finally have some form of documentation that would help explain why my life sucks so much, something that could help me and other people understand where my suffering comes from, that its not about simply a character flaw, that I have really tried to succeed.

I wonder just how shit I would feel if the results come back with nothing, just normal genes. This would be scary since I have always felt like I must have quite a few clinical relevant mutations, always have felt like a freak. I keep telling myself they can't come back normal, there is no way. But maybe they will. Maybe that will be the last nail in my coffin.

Wish you the best! I don't know anything about gene sequencing or anything of the sort but it sounds interesting.

This wont solve anything! You cant change your genes.
And not everthing is genetic, genregulatory also plays a rule.

I think sometimes there are ways to compensante for genes by different means. I would need to mostly reduce the pain and inflammation. Its a gamble but worth it for me.

Also if something comes up on the test that could explain the suffering and it has no cure or solution then that could provide some grounds for comfort in answering why the suffering and in a way other people could undetstand. That could make it easier to CTB knowing that at least you made a good effort in finding some kind of evidence which could be useful.

If anyone is interested, I used a company called nebula genomics because its the cheapest for clinical grade (100x dna sequencing) with a health focused analytics platform. I paid $1,300 with the sub. It did take about a month to get the sample kit and then you wait like 2-3 months to get results.

You send a saliva sample with a kit they send you when you buy the service and they take the sample and somehow insert your dna chains into a machine that reads and records your genes, depending on the service it can be recorded 30 times or 100 times, the more the better at reducing wrong results since we are talking about millions of microscopic molecules in the dna chain.

Then this info is uploaded to a sever where a computer looks at the whole thing and looks for specific variants that have been coded to give you different clinical information about disease, risks, facts, based on medical studies done that have found different gene variants mean something. It can help you pinpoint if there are flaws in your genes leading to different medical conditions that could affect any given organ or system or metabolic process leading to different symptoms.

Sometimes there are things you can do to alleviate the symptoms once you know what exactly might be causing them. If not possible at least you have evidence based documentation to help you explain your symptoms.
