  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

He prescribed me only 100mg though.

From my experience, 100mg (3x a day) is the trial dose to monitor side-effects, then after a week they keep bumping you until you reach your recommended/actual dosage (that's what my doctor told me to do).

I started on 100mg (3x a day), then after seven days, I had to take 200mg (3x a day). It was only for my RLS so that was enough for me and I didn't have to go higher. I didn't suffer any adverse effects or anything so it worked great for me.

I have friends that suffer with fibromyalgia, and they had to increment weekly too, until they hit 600mg (3x a day).

Thank you, I take opioids for my pain, guess he put me on those to see if I reduce my opioid intake. Just guessing. Thanks for your advice. Hugs

Hello, thank you for your advice, yes mine is a low dose, yours is 900-1200mg a day, what is exactly it's use on depression? I used to like my psych, but now he's going to a road I don't wanna follow. I think the anti depressants and sleeping pills are enough for me. He's been prescribing many things over the months that I don't take. Latest was olanzapine that made me feel like a zombie, with all respect to those who need to take it. Guess your advice is more precious than any doctor. Thank you

Guess I can't answer about the dosage, I have no idea, I'm on 300mg once only. Weight gain it's the only thing I felt. Hugs

I was on both for nerve pain, had the maximum dose of 3600mg gabapentin daily for some months… it zombies me out and had no effect on my pain, even with opioids alongside. One day they messed up my prescription just before the weekend and I went into withdrawal, it was the most horrible experience of my life! Got myself off it as I refused to take it anymore but it took a long while of weaning and terrible withdrawal symptoms.

I still had a stash of lyrica when they put me on it some time later and tried taking it upon occasion to desperately try it to beat back the pain when it got really bad - it effects me emotionally and turns me into a wreck so stopped taking it in the end!

Both drugs seemed to have side effects that far outweighed any good effects for me. So no good for my personal chemistry. But we are all different… what doesn't work for me could work for you. Best thing is to try low dose and see how it goes - high doses of either seen unadvisable though.

Good luck!

In the UK, it's chiefly prescribed as a (very poor) painkiller
Not to be confused with Pregablin which is a junkie side dish
