When the noose is hanging in full suspension, does it make any difference if someone puts the noose in front of their face and then puts their head through it going forward versus putting the noose behind the head and then backing the head up into the noose backwards.

When testing, it feels like the second method forces the neck to bend with the face looking upwards when hanging, and I'm not sure what effect that would have?

Any ideas?

You will die, no matter were the position of the knot is. Maybe you black out a little faster if the knot is in the back of your head because it puts maximum pressure on both carotides.

I have spent a lot of time researching this as well as looking at photos. The best position for the knot is behind the neck. It is supposed to give the maximum pressure on the carotid and not consrtict the windpipe. Look up "Lost All Hope". There is a page dedicated to the short drop. According to Lost All Hope if positioned correctly, the person should pass out in about 5 seconds.

Thanks for pointing this to me. Unfortunately the methods portion is blocked. Man the odds are so against people who attempt suicide it scares the crap out of me. Being in even worse shape than I am now.

Wondering if exercise band would work well? Feels pretty snug but haven't figured out best way to attach handholds to something. 20211013 200355

I doubt that would. It would stretch a lot, and probably snap. You would need something more along the lines of blue or black bands, which have a resistance of 75kg+

@insomuchpain316 use this link https://www.lostallhope.com/suicide-methods/hanging/short-drop/simple-suspension for the hanging method information. I also could not access the methods page of Lost All Hope but this link let me in.
That works. Thank you sir. I have seen previous posts about drinking a glass of SN just before you kick the chair. Wanted to get thoughts on that? Just in case something goes wrong so don't end up a quadrapeligic if found. I guess I was thinking if something went wrong SN would finish the job.
