Sorry I don't like to vent, but I needed to get it off my chest. I was returning from working a few days in London and saw this homeless person.

It was so visible how much he was suffering, he was elderly, skinny, shivering and his face said it all. People just walk past like he wasn't there.

After buying him some food, I spent the train journey crying thinking how fucked up everything is.

No one has the right to tell someone that they care and they're not alone. No one gives a shit about anyone, it's all shallow words.

No one has the right to tell someone that that things will get magically better, because that just isn't the case. Do you think it will get better for the elderly homeless guy? No he will die suffering on the street.

We allow people to suffer and suffer, without giving a shit - and then when they want a exit we refuse them and tell them they gotta live on through their suffering…because things will get better right?

Fuck this world. I keep switching back and forward with wanting to cbting with a loose plan of doing it on the 17th of March. Shit like this just tells me world ain't worth it.

I agree that no one gives a shit about anyone anymore. In my personal like strangers have behavved as if they care more than my family or supposed boyfriend. Im tired of hearing this will get better, no it wont.

It truly is such a hellish place, I know that no matter what I could never wish to exist in this world filled with endless suffering and so much senseless cruelty.

Humanity has become disconnected. There's little by way of community anymore. There's a loneliness pandemic because of it, I think. But also a lack of empathy as many people think in terms of us and them… they turn a blind eye to what they don't want to see, to what doesn't immediately impact their lives, or what they may feel "obligated" to assist in - which would mean they had to give something of themselves.

A blind eye to poverty, war, grief, torture, trafficking, homelessness, starvation, whatever. All the things people don't want to see, because they're messy, and visceral, and terrifying.

I'm generalising. There are people with empathy, you're obviously one. But it feels that the balance tipped a long time ago in terms of who gives a shit and who doesn't.

But I also think it's about what people feel they don't have the resources, energy or power to fight.

Thank you for caring about this old man. I'm sure just being seen and acknowledged by you brought him more comfort than even the food.

Thank you for the kind words. But honestly I don't feel like a good person. I'm just like most people who waste their money on needlessly consumerism which could have been used in helping others.

It totally is... Supermarkets and food processing companies rather throw away food than giving it away to the people in need.
Wealthy individuals buy up housing and leave them empty for future returns or have the power to demand insane rents.
If we would be truly a fair and empathic society (which every pro-lifer says we are), then those individuals would be punished for their actions that only benefit themselves. Some might argue that people who made tons of profit reinvest the money in jobs and inventions that benefit society. And I am sure there are a few that do, but the majority simply doesn't and spend it on bullshit projects like going to Mars or useless products like augmented reality glasses.

I am not a specialist in economics and understanding the flow of money is very complex, but seeing that all many big companies report record profits every year while mental/physical health and fertility is declining everywhere... Something's not right

...there is the opinion that situations of poverty are a direct result of humanity's disconnection from nature, the widespread
destruction of the environment..

passers-by are themselves uncomfortable, & can understand the lack of hope behind society's facade.......

This world truly isn't worth it and contains so much unnecessary and cruel suffering. It's awful just how much people suffer for the ones living good lives to invalidate their suffering. Life is truly something I don't want to live and those who say I'm irrational for wanting death are themselves irrational instead. There's suffering and pain all around us and yet people like to insist that life is good. This is the extent of this rotten human nature
