Contact the manufacturer definitely. Like a syringe type needle? I wonder if it's part of the manufacturing machinery. I imagine most food is made by machines these days.

I once found half a press stud in a packet of runner beans. Maybe off the poor sod who picked them. A friend of a friend found bullet pellets in a chicken. Enough to make you think about how the poor thing died.
