Discussion For those who have chosen a day: what helped you?

As the title suggests, what helped you settle on a day and feel confident in it? I've had the phrase, "don't think about what came before or what comes after; take a deep breath; bend your knees; and jump," circulating in my head for a bit now. I'm trying to pump the end of August in my brain, it'd would allow me to complete a few things I want to do before I die and a few promises to others I know I can complete before going through with cbt. But, I'm worried it will just be another date I give myself and don't go through with. I just want to be done and over with this shit. I'm fed up with life and I feel I've thought on it long enough to know I truly, deep down, feel that way.

So, how? What's helped you?

I've never attempted so take this with a grain of salt, but I picked a date that had emotional significance to me and allowed me to get everything I had off my plate. I don't know if picking a date is necessary or not but that's just how I saw it

I just picked whichever date that wasn't close to a holiday or a loved one's birthday

I still haven't picked a date because I still have hope that there's a chance thing might get solved and get better, sometimes I get the urge to just go through with it, and I've been the same way for about a year now, but I also really want to make sure that at I have atleast done everything I could to fix things before going so i've no choice but to struggle some more.

I've been thinking of doing it on my birthday. I dunno, seems fitting
