What do you mean by "accepting death"? In what sense one doesn't accept death?

Harry has to accept his own death in order to open the Snitch...sigh but this is probably not what the op was looking for

That reminds me of "Grave of the Fireflies"...except much more sad.

Good one, grave of the fire flies is really intense. I wouldn't say he accepted death though? Maybe I'm mistaken. No offense.
To be honest, I don't quite remember. It was such a sad movie that I skipped it when rewatching all of the Ghibli movies.

Paranormal agent episode 8 has a stand alone plot where a elderly man, a lgbt man, and a child all want to die, and spend the episode trying to kill themselves unsuccessfully comedically. It's great, and it can be watched without seeing the show. The only reoccurring character briefly in it is lil slugger who has no character outside beating people with a bat at the end of each episode.

Saying this again for like the fifth time, but for me The Good Place has the absolute best approach to death and even the afterlife, at least at the end of the show. Their struggles to fix the afterlife bring up some decent philosophy too.

Basically every soul after dying gets put through a test which they get infinite tries to complete. Once they pass, they get to go to The Good Place which is basically Heaven itself and you can stay there for as many eternities as you want to do whatever you want. Should you decide you are bored with paradise though, you get to choose whether you want to walk through a door where you get to die a final death that's completely painless. Walking through this door simply releases your essence and disperses it throughout the universe, like a wave crashing into a cliff. Your essence also gets to influence and create one good deed back on earth before you're finally free forever from the pain of existence.

To me this is the best way to die and if there really is an omnipotent super being or beings controlling the afterlife then they'd be idiotic not to have it set up this way.

Might be irrelevant, but Iron Giant had this: "I know you feel bad about the deer, but it's not your fault. Things die. That's part of life. It's bad to kill, but it's not bad to die."

Persona 3, the theme of the game is literally memento mori. Every character in the story has to grapple with mortality in some way, and the narrative is entwined around the concept of ephemerality and borrowed time.

I won't spoil the ending, however, I will say the crux of the game's narrative is centered around accepting one's inevitable demise. The world you interact with is shaped and colored by death, specifically the impact it has on individuals throughout different stages of their lives after they experience loss.

Each character has a different story to tell, with a unique spin on how they've carried the weight of the world. For example, there's a side character whose story arc focuses around being terminally ill and how he is coping with the realization that his life is slowly inching towards it's conclusion. Another character has to grieve the loss of the woman he loves shortly after becoming cognizant of the fact he adores her.

In battle, the characters have to point literal pistols at their head before summoning their personas. This act symbolises the awareness that they could die at any moment, yet they've chosen to conquer their fear for the greater good of humanity.

The game is pretty long, as it's your standard JRPG 90 hour grind, but there was a series of films released that are based on the games, if you're willing to compromise on losing some bits and pieces of the narrative.

I've played this game several times throughout the years and it has a very special and sentimental place in my heart because of how relatable it is to me.

Bojack Horseman had a good episode about death and the nothingness that awaits us, in general it's refreshing to see mainstream media tackle the subject without religious extenuation.

Hold on. I also won't spoil the ending. But don't you think it kinda counters the accepting mortality and stuff?

Although this quote from one of the characters (A***s) hits me deep:
"If something's precious , you don't want to lose it... If something is dear , it's painful to part with them. Loss can hurt , but... I don't think there's anything wrong with that."

And the character that grieves the loss of the woman ...that part is painful to watch. His story is one of the best

I totally agree, he answer part of FES completely goes against the main themes of the game. specially the new stories they are trying to add into the spinoff games, regarding Elizabeth searching for a way to bring you know who back, uggh.

Ah I get it. People do tend to enjoy protagonists that they can relate with.
I stopped consuming any stories and narratives. I was making my own stories in my mind, with my own characters.
If I had to choose a movie or game I would choose... I do not know really. Oh wait.

To shed himself of all he had become and return to his original basic form. Brilliant!
I heard while back they were making a season 2, but then became depressed and forgot about it. Know if it was any good?

Yeah that is a good one. But for me death is more esoteric. I like to consume practical media like Near death experiences or gnostic teachings.

For me watching gore videos is a part of making peace with death. To be honest It is most hard hitting thing you can do to confront mortality. You just see what your body really is.
I "like" to see people shoot themselves in head. They are just switched off. They are gone in a second. I immediately feel relief for them, hoping the will achieve peace after death.
Also If I weren't suicidal I would paint still frames from videos. Head just turned into fine red mist as 50cal hits head. Body falling from tower. Limb body swaying from the celling, because people forget we are mortal beings.
