The Tudors, Black Sails, Outlander, Versailles, Ripper Street.
Escapism at its purest!

Personally, I need something that is the following:

1) I haven't seen before (if I've seen it before I won't be as captivated)
2) Has an engaging plot
3) Is fast paced
4) From the last 20 years (the older show, the slower the pace on average)

My picks: Game of Thrones, Dexter, Black Mirror, Shameless, Lost

Breaking Bad is the greatest show I've ever seen, but season 1 is rather slow unfortunately

I don't like the current lot of shows. I don't know why. I liked the shows of mid 2000s and late 2000s. A standard mix of serious drama and fun moments. I tried Breaking Bad 2-3 times. Mad Men as well. I couldn't bear the slowness.

The soparanos? Maybe The Wire? I've never seen either so I'm not sure how slow they are, but both are supposed to be brilliant!
