Several months ago I was at the lowest point in my life. I searched suicide methods and found this site. I lurked here for a while gathering information on my preferred methods and decided to join because I had a few questions regarding one of the methods. I started fantasizing about dying every day. Mum took me to the doctor to get prescribed antidepressants and start counselling. I had approximately 14 counselling sessions and then quit because I didn't want to help myself, my mind was set on suicide. I didn't plan to ctb until after my mum passes away which could be up to 30 years from now. I bought a BDSM rope and 200g of Sodium Nitrite just incase mum died in the near future. I started self harming and experimenting with partial hanging.

I have improved a lot since I joined this site. I want to wish everyone all the best. Whichever path you decide to take, I hope you find the peace you're seeking. Thank you @Brick In The Wall for being an awesome friend and making me laugh countless times.

I'm sad to see you go and I've checked your profile from time to time lately even. But I saw it coming and I'm atleast very happy to see that you're leaving for recovery!

Thank you so much for sharing your time with me. I can remember countless (pun) nights spent bullshitting with you and making jokes.

I wish nothing but the best for you old friend, I hope you never find yourself here again. But just know that if you ever do and I'm still here, well you'll always have a friend in me!

I too have a gut feeling that my life would get better one day, so I'm gonna wait and see. It's been a day since CTB hit my mind. I hope I can be as lucky as you one day. I'm so happy for you dear.:hug::heart:

I don't know whether I can leave this site to recover or once I recovered. I love this place and you so much.

This outpouring of love is what this place is about. Whether we CTB or find recovery we're a family here.

Most of us do recover from my experience here, but most leave without posting a recovery goodbye thread. So I definitely appreciate seeing a thread like this and although I'll miss you @zeroambition I'm very proud of you!

It's very good news to hear this. I think people should stay here only so long as it is a benefit to them. If it's time to leave for better things, then that's the right thing to do.

Good luck @zeroambition I wish you every success for your future.

And brilliant song: I have the Four Hosrsemen version too :)

This is the most important thread for me right now so I'm bumping it. C'mon SS fam, lets give some love to someone who's saying goodbye to recover!

I walk in the same shoes, I attribute my rise to SS and that's the reason why I'm not leaving. More than that, it may be the most thrilling period of my life which is launching. I sealed the hope in my case

Yesterday, I was speaking to a IRL friend when he made shocked remarks as "curious" about the poker party that is organised with what he thought to be strangers (I invited him), then I thought about you you you you and YOU ! I realised I made many golden original friends he could envy. So few things count in reality and fulfilling relationships is one of the mandatory item to check.
For the first time in a while, I felt a few steps ahead of the finish line. I was not missing on a career, wife, kids plus the infamous dog (neither focusing on past difficulties) and all the absence of time, many duties, regrets and failures that they don't care to admit openly, except a few times when they cry their eyes out lol I had another friend reveal to me he never quite liked or felt close to his children, that he is relieved they're now autonomous adults ! Another one works so much - including out of hours to satisfy the quality standards of the circle he maintains - that you can attest he is really a no-lifer. He has nothing special personal to share since he didn't invest in himself but emptiness. He is really just filling the space desperately with a character to avoid the void more than anything else. He expressed he wouldn't mind to quit it all, live intensely for 15 years and crash in death. We agreed lol

There's no need to be in the same boat. Go your own way. SS suits me as good company for now. It takes part at my development so I stick around

So, goodbye OP, "travel safe" ! Happy you made it / don't need us anymore. Thanks for the example onto others of this promise

When I was a teenager, this scene really impacted me with questioning

(Not posting the end scene to not spoil but fantastic movie)

As long as you respect and dig the persons, you apply no chains and no ownership onto them, but you wish them even more freedom, even if it means a bit of suffering from the absence or even misunderstandings and temporary adjustments. You'd wish they'd do the same for you in return if you spread this stance around contagiously. Encouraged to be free as a bird, OP will remember the good of SS and have equally more chances to pass by again than otherwise

Thank you everyone!!! I'll likely be homeless living in a car after my mum passes away due to a few reasons so my future isn't looking too flash but I'll take one day at a time. My social anxiety and body dysmorphia hasn't improved much but I no longer feel suicide is the only option. I'm going to self ban after I post this reply. Goodbye everyone!

It's good to hear you're giving life another chance, and that you're feeling better about things. I hope you keep the good momentum going, and that you're able to tackle any hurdle that comes your way. I hope every day of your future is brighter and happier than the one before it.
