  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I know SI is very strong and biological in nature. Would alcohol, sleep deprivation, and fasting lessen it?

I really have no idea if any of those things lessen SI. But, what I do know that lessens it is being beat down by life to the point where ALL hope is lost and ctb is left as the only option. Your hope needs to go first. It's one thing to say you've lost all hope. It's another to have actually lost all hope. The only way to know when that occurs is to experience what that feels like. I think everyone will know when that occurs in their own lives. It doesn't always happen. That's what keeps people sticking around.

Alcohol might to a small extent, but all these also reduce your mental control and make it more likely to botch the attempt. The only real way SI goes away IMO is if the ctb trigger is sudden and severe enough.

xanax and tramadol probably has an impact on SI. These two medications have been known to reduce anxiety for those scared of surgery and make one feel 'invincible' according to tramadol abusers

Benzos (and maybe tramadol, as Alex6216 suggested) work best on overcoming SI. However, it is only alleviation of SI, not total annihilation. The strongest weapon against SI is your natural acceptance of suicide, genuinely losing all hope. For some, psychedelics, such as magic mushrooms or DMT, can help too. Research has shown that terminal cancer patients who were given magic mushrooms had become dramatically less afraid of death. But it needs to be a good psychedelic experience, ideally with some experienced tripsitter.

I'm not sure about alcohol and sleep deprivation, some people say it may be helpful, but I guess it depends on the individual. Don't forget that choosing the right method is also important. It doesn't have to be the perfect one, but one that you feel most comfortable with. For example, for me it is unimaginable to use nitrogen, Nembutal or to hang myself, while SN and jumping just somehow feel right.

SI is basically your consciousness. By lowering it you also lower SI. So alcohol, drugs etc will help.
