I know this question has been asked a million times, but after reading many threads on this topic I still haven't received a conclusive answer.
I've read the instructions on how to set up both of these methods, both of them have something that worries me.
An exit bag is very fragile. One wrong move and I can pull it off or damage it. However an exit bag sort of guarantees that it will maintain the inert environment as long as the constant flow of gas is ensured and since the bottom of the bag isn't sealed completely, all the gas will escape not allowing any oxygen in.
A scuba mask is much more robust, because it's fixated on the head and it won't be accidentally pulled off or damaged, which is why it's more appealing to me, as well as the aesthetic factor of a mask vs a bag. The issue that I have with a mask is that unlike a bag it relies on having a tight seal to the face so that water doesn't get in, and while it may be a water tight seal, does that mean it's also a gas tight seal? Does that depend on the mask? I've seen masks online where it says in the description that if water gets in it will be quickly removed through the exhaust valve at the bottom or something like that, does that mean there's a chance for water/gas to get in?
If anyone could clarify this I would really appreciate it, thanks.
