• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

It seems to me there's not another person or place for me to turn to. The reason I keep going is for the sake of loved ones and the hope that sometime in the near future I might find something that will give me a reason/will/drive to live. What does one do when they've exhausted all resources available? I've tried therapists, medications, been in mental hospitals, have had periods of exercising and engaging in other hobbies. Right now I'm on medication again (despite my lack of faith in them and just therapy in general) as I reached a very low point again. Whenever I look for answers on how to overcome depression, the answers are usually the same- reach out to loved ones, talk to a therapist, get exercise, etc etc.

I don't feel "ready" to give up yet but everything does feel extremely pointless, even more so when the main reason you're putting in all this effort is for others, who do not bring you any solace.

Is anyone else alone in trying to get better?

Yeah, there's a few of us on here that are torn between making an early exit and trying to stick it out because there might, just might! Be hope.

I came here looking for tips to exit. That was over two years now.
In the meantime I decided to end my life as it is now. Not the physical part, but the family, the job, and maybe even the location.

I've done two of those in the past year. It was well and truly hard. It still is.

But I'm giving it a try first.

And if that doesn't help in a reasonable amount of time, well the physical life can go away too.

All to say, yes...

Thanks for posting. I know what you mean. One of the few lessons that I've extracted from therapy is that no one can help me. Family and friends suggest that I talk to a therapist while a therapist suggests that I talk to family and friends. Shit's exhausting XD. I've stopped talking to both. It's hard when someone asks how you're doing and your brain's first impulse is to respond in a way that won't yield any further questions. I usually say ok because explaining to someone why/how I'm unwell is exhausting and fruitless. It helps neither party.

I'm also anti-medication in general after some bad experiences. I try to handle my feelings but will resort to the occasional cigarette if things get overwhelming.
I'm also still here for my family. They don't understand and I'm tired of my explanations leaving them feeling confused, worried, scared, misguided while I feel totally rejected by the lack of understanding. It's lonely but simpler to struggle alone and try to be consistent for family. As I wrote this, my partner sent me a picture of a dog with the best of intentions and I feel nothing about it.

So ya, you could say that I feel alone in my struggles. Trying to get better? Marginally. Making a good choice or two when I'm in the mood and hoping that at some point, my body gets sick of feeling this way and something clicks.

Thanks again for sharing.

Y'all both need to hear this: You have not exhausted every form of help available. First off, there's about 50 different types of therapy out there, and if your therapist is saying shit like "talk to family and friends" then you've picked the worst one, which is bullshit-ass talk therapy. Refer to this post of mine for other types of therapy that are way way way way more effective, many of which don't require you to even talk to the therapist that much at all: https://sanctioned-suicide.net/thre...ve-you-found-most-helpful.251439/post-3545937

Second, there's non-therapy options out there. If you're looking for anything that could possibly help, I'll suggest two things that you may or may not be receptive to, but i'll suggest anyway because there's a solid chance it'll fucking work. Flower essences and homeopathy. The latter comes in two forms, classical and clinical. Classical might be your best bet for deep healing but, you know, try stuff and see what works for you. Find reputable providers, there are shitty ones out there just like there are shitty psychiatrists and shitty doctors.
