Excuses to hand off pets?

I know I need to leave my cats with my mom when I CTB, but she knows Im bipolar and have a tendancy to just drop off the face of the earth and try stuff like this, what are viable excuses that I could leave my cats with her? Ive thought about saying Im moving somewhere more affordable that wont allow pets or telling her Im going on a trip but I want to hear any ideas
