Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

Hello. I work in a vet clinic. We use a solution called "euthasol" to euthanize animals. It contains pentobarbital sodium and phenytoin sodium. How realistic would it be to ctb through an injection of this? It acts very rapidly so I'm afraid I would just pass out before I could finish injecting it since I would need a fairly large amount.
Whenever N was available people were drinking it and using chocolate or something else after.
I believe the reason for not injecting it was because of passing out.

I'm reading the safety data sheet on euthasol and it says "Pentobarbital sodium: Oral LD50 (rat) 118 mg/kg" do you know if it would be possible to drink the euthasol? Obviously I'd need to figure out the exact ratio of pentobarbital sodium but could it work?

I'm not as familiar with the dosage. You can Google pics of pentobarbital bottles for ingredients.
Most just show the front of the bottle.
I don't know if someone else has better info than I do.
I found a label with ingredients but it wouldn't let me copy and paste with chrome.

For rats the LD50 (orally) is 118 mg/kg so it would need to be a lot for a human. I would need 6,704mg, and each bottle only has 390mg so if my math is correct I would need just a little over 17 bottles. My clinic does not carry that much at once.

So sorry. I wish you the best though.
You would think they would carry more. It's not like they are euthanizing rats. Cat's and dog's, which would take more depending on the size of the animal.

Yeah, they maybe have four bottles at a time. A cat or a dog never takes more than one bottle to euthanize, especially since we're administering it intravenously. Oral is a whole different story.
No, it's 390 mg per each ml which means the whole bottle has 39000mg or 39 grams. 6 grams seems to be the minimum lethal dose, 10g or more to speed up the process. that would be 16ml for 6 grams and 39ml for 10 grams.
