The pro - lifers think that it's perfectly OK to give euthanasia drugs to people who are suffering from physical ailments, yet have a major problem with giving euthanasia drugs to people who are suffering mentally.
Can someone tell me the difference here ?
Suffering is suffering, no matter if physical or mental.
When that suffering impacts someone in a hugely negative way, and diminishes their quality of life to unbearable levels, then that person deserves the right to end their lives, no matter what the cause.
The pro - lifers supposedly don't want us to suffer, yet they want us to keep on living ( in other words carry on suffering by living ).
This twisted logic of theirs is both infuriating and ridiculous.

There's a major difference: Suffering from physical illness can be seen and in some cases also an "end-date" can be estimated , suffering from MH issues cannot, nobody can see or make an x-ray of thoughts, feelings, and all the like.

What if someone becomes homeless and just wants to end this suffering although not being mentally ill? It's also suffering that some might not want to endure. This is just an example.

Not everyone can be rescued and not everyone wants to be rescued just to endure more suffering.

To me it's like the pro-lifers do want people to suffer, where I live there is only euthanasia for animals, no humans are allowed a peaceful exit at all which just shows what a hellish and disgusting world we exist in.

I very strongly believe that euthanasia should be avaliable for all. It's the most important human right to have a way to peacefully and permanently escape from all suffering in this existence we were unfortunate to be burdened with.

I think these people forget that if someone wants to end their life, they'll do it eventually. Being against a peaceful death just to abandon these people to a painful one is hypocrisy.

I think, that is a too optimistic thesis speaking of pro-lifers in general. Some of them do not accept euthanasia for any reasons.

Suffering is suffering, no matter if physical or mental.
Perhaps, the difference is in the estimated likelihood of solving the problem in a different way than by death. While some physical forms of illness are considered completely hopeless, issues with mental state are often viewed as potentially remediable by a therapy or other measures to some point where they become bearable. Since there exist examples of successful medical treatment of mental suffering, it raises a question when it makes sense to give up on attempts to achieve a mental comfort, and different people have different opinions on this matter.

People only follow made up laws and rules. But what does the reason for wanting to die matter? It is your life and your choice. It is your death and your choice.
