The whole preoccupation with virginity, for both sexes, is based on the idea that women are men's property. Sex is something a woman gives up to a man instead of being something two people do together bc they love each other. It's not a fun dynamic to be in! Very dehumanizing to think of yourself in that way.

Me. I'm neither proud or ashamed of it. Sex was always connected to love for me so, it would have been a mistake I think for me to have gone for any of the (very) few opportunities I got. I think that simply would have done me more harm than good. To speak crudely, it's not like I will have died without knowing what an orgasm feels like. Lol. So, maybe not quite so innocent.
Virgins can murder. Virgins can steal. Virgins can spread hate speech. Being a virgin does not prove any sort of "purity " or "innocence", it proves you have never had sex. That is it.

I don't agree with op that being a virgin means you are pure or innocent, but I don't really blame them because it's an extremely common and prevalent belief in most cultures and through a lot (not all, but a lot) of human history. I don't agree with it or want it to be true, but at some point you feel pressured by the common consensus to play by society's rules or risk social expulsion. Not sure OP's gender but I'm female and there's a huge social and even safety risk to not valuing your virginity.
I'm also happy to die a virgin, I know any kind of sex at this point would be traumatizing for me and I take comfort in that being one less thing to worry about other people "taking" from me before I go. I've even feared that whoever finds my corpse after my CTB wouldn't be able to resist sexually assaulting said corpse. I know that's a weird thing to worry about if I'd already be dead, but somehow that makes me feel worse. My idealized CTB method would involve somehow obliterating my body to dust so it could in theory remain "pure." It's fucked up.

No it's not. It means that I have failed as a biological unit and social animal, and my colossal failures on this front as well as the social one are the biggest fuel for my suicidal fantasies.

You have it backward. You're sad, lonely, insecure -> you fixate on something external like sex -> you get bothered by the fact that you're not having it.
