The whole preoccupation with virginity, for both sexes, is based on the idea that women are men's property. I don't agree with op that being a virgin means you are pure or innocent, but I don't really blame them because it's an extremely common and prevalent belief in most cultures and through a lot (not all, but a lot) of human history. I don't agree with it or want it to be true, but at some point you feel pressured by the common consensus to play by society's rules or risk social expulsion. Not sure OP's gender but I'm female and there's a huge social and even safety risk to not valuing your virginity.

I'm also happy to die a virgin, I know any kind of sex at this point would be traumatizing for me and I take comfort in that being one less thing to worry about other people "taking" from me before I go. I've even feared that whoever finds my corpse after my CTB wouldn't be able to resist sexually assaulting said corpse. I know that's a weird thing to worry about if I'd already be dead, but somehow that makes me feel worse. My idealized CTB method would involve somehow obliterating my body to dust so it could in theory remain "pure." It's fucked up.

I'm a gay man so I don't really care about women lol. Also I don't see a possible partner as an object. The fetishization of virginity as something "pure" and of instincts as something "bad" rings really weird and alien to my ears.
