I couldn't find enough information on this topic, so I decided to start a thread; maybe someone can offer some advice and help with information.

I'm thinking about the drowning method in case of loss of consciousness due to drugs. Is it actually possible, for example, to float out to deep water on an inflatable mattress or something similar? Would I need to take a large number of tranquilizers (combined with alcohol or something else that would enhance the effect)? And should I try to wait in a sitting position until I pass out, or should I already be halfway in the water and hold onto some kind of inflatable beach item with my hands?

Am I correct in understanding that, in such a case, a person would simply drown while unconscious if they pass out? If they fall face-first into the water and don't regain consciousness, death will follow regardless. If a person is unconscious on their back, water will gradually enter their mouth anyway, and they will drown.

Also, wouldn't a person remain conscious due to a strong self-preservation instinct?

Are my thoughts correct? Can anyone provide more information about this method? Is CTB really possible this way?

Idk, I'm sorry, I wish I did 🄺. I'd worry a little though about someone who means well seeing you and trying to save you.

Yeah, I'm understand If someone sees me, they'll want to save me. I'm wondering if it's even possible to do something like that—to take some medication and let myself drown painlessly.

This post might prove helpful.

What I'm about to say is mostly me guessing, so please don't take it very seriously.

Whether drug-induced drowning would be painless I think partly depends on what route of administration (ROA) you would use to take the drugs. If you take them orally, there may be a period where you are immobilised and drowning yet still conscious and able to feel pain. There's probably a smaller chance of this happening if you use a ROA with a faster onset such as smoking or IV injection.

Also, I don't know what drugs you'll be using, but I doubt that sleeping meds such as benzos are strong enough to keep you unconscious while drowning. Drugs such as opioids and dissociatives are better suited for this purpose it seems. Sleeping meds (and maybe alcohol or something like that) could still be used as a supplement.

Thank you so much. this is a good idea.

I have always thought that overdosing on fentanyl is easy. However there were two issues with that one that the quality of fentanyl purchased from the street is iffy and second is that medicines like narcan are very effective in preventing overdoses.

So what about if someone takes a lot of street grade fentanyl and lies down in a bath tub? if if they don't die from overdose they may drown and not feel the pain because of being passed out? How long will it take? has anyone done it?

They can't narcan you if you have already drowned. Method should be to check-in into a hotel. inject fentanyl instead of smoking so that the alarm doesn't go off and then lie in a bath tub full of water and pass out hard. Let the water do its job.

I think this can work. It's just that SI should not wake me up while I am drowning. I'm not sure about that.

Thanks for your reply. I wasn't planning on using drugs; I only have access to over-the-counter medications. But I was thinking about benzodiazepine tranquilizers and maybe alcohol? For example, do you think I might lose consciousness, but then come to my senses just in time to prevent myself from drowning, since the effects of these medications might not last long enough?

I can't use real drugs, it's very hard for me For many reasons
That wouldn't work with my health issues. I'd like to use prescription medication and alcohol. But I don't know if that would be enough to drown myself and not wake up.

I don't know about fentanyl, but I know that people die in bath only with strong alcohol overdose. If you lose consciousness in the water and start swallowing water, and no one comes to your rescue, death will occur in about 6 minutes, as far as I know

I've come across cases where people have simply drowned in the bathtub from drinking too much alcohol. But I guess it would be hard to do that on purpose...

I don't think the medications not working long enough is a serious issue, as their effects typically last much longer than the time it takes for drowning to be fatal.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you whether the medications you intend on using will keep you unconscious while drowning; not with any confidence at least. If you really want to know, your best bet might be to search for experience reports of people who have drowned while intoxicated but survived. Though I can imagine that those are pretty hard to find.
