-I've considered the negatives with this method, I don't care if it's painful or a horrible way to go etc. I've decided this is the one.

-I don't know how to swim.

With the second point considered, how do I go about doing this? I CANNOT use a boat and the availability I have is a lake. Since I cannot swim, do I just jump off the shore and wait to..? Please, please help me with this.

Thank you but like I mentioned, I DO NOT care that it's painful or awful or w/e. I just want to know how I go about drowning since I don't know how to swim.

If you don't know how to swim, you drown by submerging yourself in water deep enough to where you can't stand.

you should put some sort of weight so your body sink. you can put rocks on your pockets, use a backpack with weight, things like that, just make sure is enough for your body not to come back to the surface. and i believe that the best would be jumping, try going far as you can from the lake shore, do it at a time that you know that no one is going to be around (you still can be saved after up to three hours in cold water, so keep that in mind).

i think drowning is a very peaceful way to go, people say that is like drifting off to sleep :). i hope you find the peace that you wish for.

You are giving very bad advice is not peaceful at all and can go horribly wrong I'm really the last person that should talk but If it was really "peaceful" many would do it successfuly and the odds are against you respectfully.

Thanks, so basically I go a bit off shore and just wait to sink?

Thank you so much for the detailed response, I don't think I'll be able to carry rocks due to the whereabouts, is it possible to just go in the water starting from the shore till I'm sinking?

If you don't know how to swim, you will naturally sink once your feet can no longer touch the ground. So it's not a matter of 'waiting' to sink. Gravity takes care of that immediately.

Some people can't swim but know how to float. That's where the suggestion for a weighted backpack comes into play.

It will pull you down even if you're attempting to float.

I'm not too worried about the floating part though. You have to be calm and deliberate for it to work.

When I jump, I imagine myself flailing about for a few seconds then dipping below the surface.

(If I could just teleport, I'd be dead a few minutes from now...)

relates of people that survived drowning say that is peaceful, it hurts at the beginning but then they stop struggling and it becomes peaceful. plus, there's so many reasons why people survived; survival instinct, being rescued in time, their bodies coming back to the surface, etc, etc. i did my research, you should do yours before coming here telling me that i'm giving "very bad advice". you sound like a troll, a pro-life, or both.

you're welcomed. i believe you can, if the lake is deep enough and since you can't swim; i can't say for sure though.

Thank you so much, that reassures me. I don't think I can procure weights, so I'll be counting on the fact I won't float. Thanks both of you.

Sorry but I have one more question if you guys don't mind. Can I cover my nose while drowning? Because I know it burns in contact with water. The idea is to stop breathing anyway so it'll be alright yea? This sounds stupid so I'm sorry.

There is a drowning tread.
I think weight could be good because if you cant swim, your body will still try to survive.
I know you like your method but consider jumping. Its instant.

is a natural response for your body to eventually start breathing and swallowing water, it's there that your survival instinct kicks in and i don't think is something you can avoid, but you may be able to easy the burn sensation with alcohol and sleeping pills.

Yeah, You cant breathe anyway, so it dosent really matter if your nose is open or not.

I am thinking for the longest time about drowning and using a backpack but it's so obvious for bystanders and also how to swim to deeper water with backpack
