Anyone have any thoughts on using this as basically like partial suspension hanging without the need for an anchor point and less chance of being found in the woods, etc?

This is an interesting idea! But, I think this knot tightening requires both loose ends to be pulled, so not only could you not use just your body weight, but you might not be able to tighten it with both hands enough for it to be lethal. This knot also might loosen somewhat and not kill while still unconscious yet still cause irreversible harm. I'd be skeptical of any new method that isn't tried and tested just to be on the safe side.

Yes, and also very difficult, if not impossible, to experiment with. I was thinking if used with drowning to elicit unconsciousness. About 11 pounds of pressure applied for 10 seconds is enough for unconsciousness if memory serves. The method would be drowning, not actual 'hanging'.
