Blah blah Leaving Las Vegas blah blah. Etc. Yeah some nonsense about this being a slow death. But if I really committed myself to it, how long would it take for me to drink myself to death? Would fasting help?
Lol. Ten years, and you're starting late. You'll end up fasting because you won't be able to keep an income, and you'll end up seriously addicted so you won't be choosing food. So don't worry about that.
If you can handle the hallucinations, tremors, seizures, then you can expect to tolerate that for about five years. It will take you five years to get there and five more years to die.
And you get no time to acclimatise to drinking. You start tomorrow morning by drinking spirits straight out of the bottle. You won't be able to get enough into your body to really count toward your death by drinking, because you currently lack tolerance. So you better get to work

I drank over half a bottle a few times. Not as a suicide attempt, but trying to get drunk to escape the pain. Some times id end up in the hospital, would vomit and have terrible hangovers.
I wouldn't recommend it but if you do try it good luck

Hmm, yea lack of tolerance may actually be a boon. I forgot about acute alcohol abuse. If you can stomach it, you could pop your BAC up above .4 without too much discomfort.
My cousin drank herself to death in 2 years (liver failure). She was a non-drinker when she started, but most likely already had liver damage of some sort due to DECADES of drug use of varying types, which she wasn't able to continue due to court-ordered drug testing. So, she switched to alcohol (all to help her dull the pain of a 3 decades bout with crohn's disease). Even with her condition(s), it still took her 2 years to finish herself off.

It's harder than it looks. I tried this in my early 20s. Downed two 1.5L bottles of vodka as fast as I could chug them and passed out for a couple of days. Woke up feeling like death but still here. Acute alcohol poisoning is unpredictable and unreliable, even without any tolerance.

Yeah fair it's only the LD50, not the LD100. I worked hard for my tolerance and ended up surviving a .86, but I was never drinking to die in a direct way. But substance abuse is like that; you're pushing your limits by administering larger and larger doses, and the doses might be fatal but probably not unless you're into opioids. Still, the mental process is there, of getting together your maximum dose and then adding a little more because "fuck it". "Fuck it" is a great motivator in those times.
if I'm really dedicated to die as young as possible without outright killing myself or overdosing on drugs, I can't think of any better way than drinking myself to death

Yes it is possible, if You will start drinking today at 12 am then after 25 years at 12 pm your liver will die. Good luck. Some of the ideas says me that i should really speed it up my CBT.

Unreliable and potentially very painful. Most "lethal" situation I got myself in was puking while passed out but I was laying on my side so didn't asphyxiate. There's also the possibility you do things while intoxicated that end with you being incarcerated or with very painful but non-lethal injuries. Alcoholism is hell.
