Does anyone else use dreaming as an escape? Ever since I started my new meds my dreams have been so realistic and vivid to the point where I spend the entire day just looking forward to my next dream. I see no point to life outside of these little moments where I can say or do anything I want to, achieve what I can't in real life, genuinely have fun rather than just staying inside wasting away all day. I spend inhuman amounts of time just sleeping and when I'm awake I'm completely stoned to try and get myself back off to sleep.

Honestly, my dreams are usually pretty horrible as well as being very vivid. Still, I always loathe that moment when I wake up in the morning and realise I'm still alive.

I'm glad for you though that you have enjoyable dreams. They are amazing things- even when they're horrible I suppose. Where does all that imagery come from?!

I used to. Specifically lucid dreaming. It's hard for me to actually get into that state now though, and lately I tend to "black out" while I sleep. Still, when I do dream it's a great escape.

I've really been trying to get into that lately, definitely harder than most give it credit for. I hate when the blacking out happens, always feels like a letdown but better than the alternative of being awake.

I'm sorry to hear yours aren't good, I went through a period where it was just nightmares and it really was the worst.

Apparently it comes from the pineal gland in the brain, it produces DMT which is naturally psychoactive, that plus the creative licence from the subconscious mind is responsible for the imagery. That's just what I've heard though lol.

Is this the effect of your new meds? Can't figure out if it's a good thing or bad thing, I hope you discuss it with your doctor.
I have watched a couple of videos and lucid dreams really seem fun though. As far as I remember in my entire lifetime I only had a couple of Lucid dreams. I was aware I was in a dream but I just couldn't control the things happening around me and I would wake up because of the frustration. Maybe I'm a person with lack of willpower?

Almost all my dreams that I can recall were preferable to my waking reality.

I like nice dreams. I don't get them often though ❤️ I can sleep for up to 24h! 12h is my minimum

If I would write up my dreams in here, I'd most likely violate half a dozen state and local laws.

I never dream anything that other people wouldn't find "disgusting" at best - or at least worthy of incarceration. Strangely enough I don't mind.

I can't handle the concept of "nightmare" anymore, for I dream sh*t like that all the time and it doesn't bother me.

So for me sleep is just not being awake, that's all.

Must be, plus possibly being stoned so much? Weed really doesn't mix well with the med I'm on so I'm sure my dreams are some sort of wacky side effect haha.

I'm trying to lucid dream right now, I got close the other night and managed to fly on will which was a pretty amazing experience. It's not easy at all though.
