Hey everyone. I plan to take mirtazapine, zopiclone and domperidone on my last day. Problem is, I searched for interactions between mirtazapine and domperidone on drugbank.com, and apparently it can cause QTC prolongation?
Not entirely sure what it is, but a google search says it can cause 'torsades de pointes', which can lead to cardiac arrest? Also I'm not sure if this can be caused immediately after taking both drugs together, or does it only occur after long term use? I don't know much about cardiology, so perhaps anyone knowledgeable in this area can tell me more about it? Thank you
I just want to know if getting arrhythmia while on SN will make it less peaceful? I plan to take lots of sedatives(mirtazapine and zopiclone) when the time comes, so I can leave immediately after taking SN. Will this interaction increase the chance of failure?
Any advice is welcome. Thank you!

Envious that you managed to get Zop. I find the sedatives the hardest part of the whole thing. I've wondered the same thing about these two AEs and googled the same as you. However, given that almost everyone throws up anyway, is it maybe worth just picking one as per the regimen and not adding extra possible complications?

Perhaps, but I read that Zop and mirtazapine can cause increased drowsiness and sedation so I wanted to go for that. Mirtazapine is also one of the most potent H1 antagonist out there, so its gonna give me alot of sedation.

I realise I'm mixing up mirtazapine and metoclopramide. My apologies. I was looking into the effect / need of using both AEs and that's not what you were saying.

If it helps at all, I'm considering adding an amitryptline to mine, small dose for sedative effect. I imagine it's similarish to yours?

I just want mirtazapine for its sedative effects. Unfortunately I can't get amitryptline. Would love it for its sedative and anticholinergic effects...

How effective is amitriptyline as a sedative?

It varies person to person of course. But my experience is this - if I haven't already been taking it (for depression) then even just 50mg knocks me out. I can't remember how quickly it works, but last time I used it for sleep, I slept nearly 14 hours. I suppose if you're using it regularly for depression, then you'll have built up a tolerance and it may not have such a powerful sedative effect.

Woah, good to know. Would there be any side effects from just taking one dose of 50 mg without tolerance built up?

The profile of *possible* side effects of amitriptyline is vast (including death of course) but not everyone will get the same ones, or any. So that's too hard to say. Just from my experience, 50mg without tolerance knocked me out, and tasted a little bitter. No other side effects.

I am on Mirtazapine for my MDD, I have Domperidone for easing my sickness when facing food and I now have some zopiclone to help me sleep (I have been sleeping in 1-2 hour bouts for weeks and it is just draining me). From my experience I have had no ill effects with interactions. However, I found the Domperidone to be pretty ineffective for my sick feeling. Mirtazapine tends to have a sedating effect at lower doses paradoxically - however I'm probably tolerant of it now so thats why I'm on Zopiclone to try and get some sleep. The Docs here will only give 1 or 2 weeks worth of Zop though. Once asleep though Zop will keep me asleep for a good 7 hours.

Note this is only my personal experience and YMMV.
