Well, from my personal experience, I think that choosing a date helps in three points:
- it will Helps to overcome the fear of death. Society always taught us that death is a tragedy and will do anything to avoid it, so choosing a specific date makes it easier to overcome that situation.
- It helps to make peace with dying. Sure, everyone will die someday, but since suicide is an act who requires to get personally into the process, establish a date could give a fresh perspective on the situation and overcome the panic who generates.
- it helps with planning a method. I don't know your choose one, but from my experience experience I'll get hanging and it will help me to find a spot to do it without interruption, to buy the proper rope, to prepare my own goodbye moment and simply do it without hesitation. I'll willing to pay the seconds of pain when I struggling at the constriction, but with a planned date it will be helpful for me to do it.
Remember, the decision is yours. In this site will never ask for do it or choose it without considering all the consequences. So decide wisely and don't pressure yourself.
