Discussion Does anyone know the scientific basis of health issues after a failed FSH attempt?

72 hours after my failed attempt I am having:

• Severe heart palpitations
• Convulsions
• Throwing up and constant feeling of nausea
• Body pains
• Auditory hallucinations

I am simply interested in the science, how is it that asphyxia causes such things? I would think the body returns to baseline shortly after a lack of oxygen to the brain. I am genuinely fascinated.

this came up in previous threads, that (in my opinion) theres no safe way to practice ligature. id guess you had small brain bleeds and damaged your brain/nervous system. I didnt read it but this study seems to cover what im talking about. https://osf.io/preprints/psyarxiv/c6zbv_v1

the heart never stops pumping, blood cant compress, 60k miles of blood vessels, massive implications for the system when you stop it from circulating through the whole system

I failed because I wasn't aware that I'd be suffocating, and so I swung myself forward to bring my pullup tower down and free myself. I hung about 25 to 35 seconds.

If you get a severe concussion your going to have long term effects, because your brain was damaged. If your brain is without oxygen long enough, it will also be damaged, even if it survives. It will recover somewhat, but this will take time, and it cannot fully repair itself to baseline


Though 25-35 seconds isn't very long, so the effects you are experiencing may be from something other than oxygen deprivation (such as Cerebral Edema)
