Can someone explain to me how is it possible that after you become unconscious you are able to take the bag off?
Perhaps convulsions or involuntary reaction. Survival Instinct isn't just a state of mind, it was part of biological evolution as well.

Always remove the regulator from the cylinder when in transit or in storage. Try to get a regulator for nitrogen and not for another gas, like argon or helium, etc. It will save you the hassle of doing compensating calculations. If it is within your budget, go for a click-style regulator so that you can preset the flow rate before proceeding. Finally, get a bag/mask that is able to maintain a positive pressure environment. Best, G
I've been searching for a click-style argon regulator. why cant i find even one??

Imon, I don't know this for a fact, but they probably don't make click-style argon regulators because, unlike Nitrogen, Argon is probably only used in welding which requires infinite adjustments to the flow.

I purchased a quality welding two stage pressure regulator and a separate flow meter. Total cost for both was a little over $100. The flow meter is scaled in both Nitrogen and Argon readings. But since the scale is in cu ft you do need to convert liters into cu ft. I also needed to buy some adapter fittings to set the whole thing up. For instance, the output of the flow meter was designed to accept a welding hose so I had to find an adapter that fit the output and convert it to a barb fitting for tubing.

So, yes, it's complicated as a do it yourself project.

I just did a little research and see that Argon is used, much like Nitrogen, for purging air in things, not just for welding, so I don't know why you can't find a click regulator. I think a Nitrogen click regulator could be used on an Argon tank, but the click reading wouldn't be accurate. I tried to find a simple formula to convert what a Nitrogen click reading would by for Argon, but couldn't find one.

Here is a click regulator for Argon that should work but you need to convert liter to cu ft. I just found this with a Google search and know nothing about it's quality. https://gascylindersource.com/shop/regulators/accu-trol-argon-co2-gas-regulator-for-migtig/

If the body convulses and seizes should you be worried about your head moving around, slumping down, your sitting position changing to one that's unfavorable to carrying out this method?

Old thread, bumping because I am interested in this method. I'm hoping someone might have more to add than what was discussed a few months ago.

@LADY007 I'm interested in your idea about securing your arms, could you say more about this?

I have heard of many failed attempts. That´s why I would prefer to use, what I said here:

Excuse the mess...I am trying to insert a picture of the desk chair with the "arm holder" I am going to use.

I have a leather desk chair with arms. The idea is to wrap a rope or long scarf around one arm...going over to the other arm and tie it so there is a loop across your lap. After pushing all the air out of the bag, slip both arms under the loop up to the elbow. If you black out and your arms start to move...they won't automatically pull toward you to be free of the rope/scarf. Their reaction would be an upward motion which would fail to free them.

I like this idea. I just LOLed though because it occurred to me that one could also use a chinese finger trap.

Convulsion and my chair falling is my biggest fear. I dont even know if i will get a chair in my hotel room. I dont want to traumatize my family.

Imon, the air is 80% nitrogen. It will not burn your lungs.

I am not a physician or any other specialist but I found some information on the net that makes sense and might explain the "burned lungs" after nitrogen.
The phenomeon of burned lungs is, according to Wikipedia, caused by deep/ extrem cold liquid (!) nitrogen. The nitrogen that is described in the exit bag method is however in the form of gas, not liquid!

Everything that is too cold will burn me, and if I let it flow into my lungs, it will burn my lungs.

When this was my method, I planned on sitting on the floor in a corner (comfied up with pillows), with the nitrogen container secured in an upright position a few feet away so it wouldn't get knocked over after unconsciousness (by convulsions etc), and the tubing long enough to account for me slumping/convulsing etc, all the extra tubing placed behind me and along the wall instead of in front of me to minimize chance of me getting tangled in it and ripping it out during convulsions (the tube feeding into the bag from the back as well).

I tried nitrogen before, it has 0% moisture, it dried out my throat and gave me a burning feeling. Maybe that's why.

Not me, four Nitrogen tests so far, just like breathing Oxygen, Oxygen number plummeted to 45, slightly dizzy after 20 seconds, still felt totally normal immediately afterwards---The air we all breathe is almost 80% Nitrogen
