Does anyone here believe in hell?

If there's one doctrine keeping me from believing in the whole thing it's this one, specifically the eternal conscious torment model. I'm familiar with the arguments - Jesus himself very heavily implied it, if not outright preached it ("...these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life"); the penalty for offending an infinite being is infinite; souls are eternal. But it just isn't something I can believe wholeheartedly.

I've polled this forum before and I already suspect most people here don't believe in a hell but I would love to hear a take from anyone who does.

I'm pretty sure there is debate in Christianity whether hell exists and if it is eternal. I think this place is hell enough and we bring our own hell inside ourselves. That said Jesus also preached forgiveness and died on a cross to atone for whatever horrible sin you have or will commit, that doesn't mean you should sin freely and carelessly, but if you are remorseful in your heart you have already been forgiven.

All the historic/mainstream branches reject annihilationism. I know Christianity is about seeking forgiveness but that is also what makes suicide a unique kind of sin, since there is no repentance after death.

Yea that's basically how Jehovah/Yahweh describes hell to be, "satan is here with us walking along the rest of us do not believe that Satan lives in Hell or that he has been given responsibility to punish the wicked.


It's funny how Jehovah's witnesses and I notice almost any religion uses humans worst traits and label them literally like JAMES 1:14, 15 says "Each one is tried by being drawn out and enticed by his own desire. Then the desire, when it has become fertile, gives birth to sin"
as if they aren't inherently bad people but have been deceived and lured By satan to do bad and depraved and or inhumane things even severe depression or mental illness
