I went to a national park on Monday. I figured getting there early would result in a fairly easy view of some of the lesser attractions and it's not a critical mega park like Yellowstone or Grand canyon. I was surprised to arrive at a waiting line to get in via transportation bus with hundreds of people. The volume of people wanting to see the (fill in your favorite type of national park thing) was significantly over the capacity the park could handle. Over the years the park has had to pave critical elements and only allow access to those via remote monitored paths and limit the numbers of people per day. And everyone ran and jostled for position on the buses and rushed to pay and see the brief glimose of the national wonder. Around the area subdivisions of vacation homes have spring up for the millions marketed "borders national Park xyz"

I felt down and overwhelmed as usual. I have started to realize that we as a society will never have quiet peace and joy. Humanity is inevitably a horrible mess of people trying to beg each other into doing things to benefit and grab for resources. You will become less valuable and less important every day.

Yup.
What you watched at the National Park is soon going to be countries fighting for clean drinking water.
I am not planning on watching it go down.

100% THINGS ARE ONLY EVER GOING TO GET WORSE. It's kind of crazy when you really step back and think about it. I don't want to come off as some conspiracy theorist, but things are never going to get better.. imagine if they released a cure for cancer.. all of the people who would be out of jobs who do research or are in the medical field. all of the businesses who would close and no longer be needed? they would NEVER EVER do that... look at aids... they can repress it so far that it's ultimately undetectable on a test... but you are telling me they can't go that one inch further and completely get rid of it? it's all a scam.

Even things like safety features in a car.. we have come so far with technology that cars have night vision, are able to stop when they sense something stopped in front of them, close windows automatically etc... but you best believe you have to PAY FOR THOSE FEATURES in a car... you'd think as a society when we invent something that will genuinely improve people's quality of life or save lives, that it would be put into every single vehicle made (like a seatbelt)... but no, of course not.. because no one would make any money.

ugh I could go on for hours about this kind of stuff. it's sick and ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!

If you are super rich you have access to the most beautiful things in the world unmolested by crowds of people… Everybody else…
A lot of things are getting much better for a lot of people… We have less wars than any time in human history… People are living much longer… But if you're not participating in the bounty of life things suck either way

Society in the modern world has become a dimension where everything is like the law of the jungle. There are people around the world who are homeless, hungry, sick, with no hope and no one to help. Technology is getting better and better, people, corporations, and governments, are getting worse and worse. Yeah as a species, we have problems.

I have a little bit of a different view. I do have serious doubts about our ability to create a utopia or bring about some sort of Messianic Age. I would, however, still acknowledge that people's standard of living has generally improved with the passage of time, and I'm sure it will continue to improve into the future. Is it better to live as a free person in a modern democracy or as a peasant bound in perpetuity to serfdom? Would you rather live in freezing climates before or after the invention of central heating systems? How about feeding your family via laboring as a subsistence farmer versus driving to the grocery store? Life is by no means perfect now, and the advancement of civilization certainly creates problems of its own. However, I think it's reasonable to assume that the general wellbeing of people around the world has trended upward over time and will continue to do so.

The problem for me is that I feel there will always be suffering in the world. No matter how much life improves across all levels of society, there will always be people struggling unnecessarily. Further, even if we could create a perfect, suffering-free world, at what cost would it come? Over the 5,000 years of recorded history I feel humanity has made dismal progress towards the Good. How many more thousands of years must pass and how many more billions of people must suffer before we achieve any semblance of utopia? I just don't understand how any of it can be justified. Of course, as I do not believe myself to be the messiah, nor do I possess the power to erase us all from existence via nuclear holocaust, I am left unable to end societal suffering.

So can society ever recover? I suppose we have been in the process of recovery from the very beginning. I just don't think we'll ever be able to be completely healthy.

What I see is that people are desperate for nature. Living in cement cages might feel safer but it's unnatural & stressful. People got into... earthing? To walk barefoot to balance energy.

Bill gates saud that he planned to depopulate the world with vaccines. I hate the hipocrisy. I want euthsnasia. But maybe he wants to cull out the mindlessly obedient dumb first? But doubtful with all the manipulation & coertion they did. And they prefer obedient slaves.

They suck at genocide... They do it to their own good people. I'd do it at pedo

I wish I was an animal living free in harmony with nature. No forms. No taxes. Free them bam eaten. New farms are abominations. They're overpopulated because we are.

We need to cull out the bad people. I'd start with the top.
