Hey guys. So, today I had dinner and it felt pretty awful. I couldn't enjoy it cause I just felt like absolutely no one wanted to talk to me, and it was really isolating. I really wanted to cry but I restrained myself in front of family. Then I realized I hadn't taken my Lamictal yet.

Went home immediately. I was hoping to maybe cry and wallow, but I ended up taking my Lamictal dosage (25 mg, started five days ago). Just like that, I wasn't really feeling like crying anymore. I honestly can't tell if it works, if the timing just lined up, or if the placebo effect is making me feel better. I'm pretty sure Lamictal isn't supposed to work like this, or this fast.

Thoughts?

Glad it worked fast, maybe a combination of the medication's actual effects and the predicted effects lined up to make it work wonders for you ^.^

I can work that fast. Atomoxetine worked for me on day 1 and it was supposed to take 6 weeks to kick in. It definitely wasn't placebo, because a different drug didn't have that effect on me. Is this your first med?

There's nothing wrong with crying. Most psych meds are meant to numb emotions. I tried so many of them, now I'm just an emotionless zombie.

Well at first and still happens. Plus i agree that meds can numb emotions. (Some of em and depending on the person)

Now im just numb no happiness no sadness no anger nothing. Which idk if I prefer that more that javing mood swings.

Some meds makes it harder to cry (idk if it has happened to anyone) as much as you want to, you just can't.
