does anybody else feel like the world is getting worse?

i was born in the early 2000s and grew up during the mid 2000s-2010s era and i feel like after the 2010s ended the world has just been getting worse. maybe it's because i was a kid back then, but seriously like social media and the internet used to be fun, and now it's just so full of spam and hate. everything is just trying to copy tiktok which is a shit social media anyways it's literally rotting its user's minds. i feel like new clothing design is so trash too, people are meaner and dumber, ai content is fucking everywhere, new cars are shit, new houses are too expensive. everything is too expensive like how is it that you can't work full time and sustain yourself on your own anymore? ik this is in offtopic but this is one of the main things that's making me wanna ctb. it really just makes me think there's no place for me in this world.

I suspect part of it is where we're at in life in terms of responsibilities etc. I think a lot of people look back on their youth and think times were better. I grew up in the 80's and 90's. Those seem better times to now. My parents said their era growing up was better.

I know what you mean though. Things seemed to have taken a nose dive since covid especially. I can't really fathom why people currently want to bring children into this. The internet seems like the Wild West. Job markets are so competetive. Everyone and their dog seems to have some sort of mental illness.

Life's become easier in some ways with all the technological improvements but, it also seems more hostile. Maybe it has been in the past too but it's like discrimination is having some weird renaissance come back.

Well, we are currently starting to live in a crisis again. The cycle of ups and downs has always existed, so this is nothing new.

The fact is that our current standard of living is better than it was in previous centuries. We simply have to face the problems of our time. Some of them are completely new to our species.
Perspective is also important, because for example people living in poorer parts of the world could give a lot to have our problems that we have in richer places. Of course, this does not mean that our problems are less important, because they are also very important.

I do not know what the future holds, but many things tell us that more difficult times lie ahead.
