I'm not nervous cause I'm able to CTB when I want, but I don't understand where this talk about war came from, just a couple of days ago I see people talking about a draft. I don't understand how the US is in any position to fund a war. Do we actually have anywhere near enough healthy young people to be soldiers against Russia of all countries?

Who knows, I think collapse is inevitable at our current trajectory but the time frame is anyone's guess. Mutually assured destruction makes it unlikely that there will be large scale wars between super powers but the US ruling elite have their heads so far up their asses they may actually think they can benefit from and navigate nuclear winter. I have a gun, and If collapse comes I will stick around to see this shithole country implode and then I will promptly blow my brains out.

There is a problem in the global economy. We have moved away from the scientific economic plan. While the rich increase their money not by production, but by stock markets and other investments, the remaining billions receive less share. Nobody cares about production. Everyone wants to earn more money. For many countries, the food crisis is next. Why should they farm instead of earning tax-free cryptocurrencies with billion-dollar investments? Ever since the dollar broke from the gold standard, the Fed has been printing money for nothing. Every time they print dollars, we're all in debt. This is not sustainable. This is the point we have reached in a completely uncontrolled free market. Now they are talking about global socialism. We are on the verge of a new paradigm shift. The fiat money system is doomed to collapse. I think the human population is too large. This is the most fundamental economic problem. The world population should not exceed 1 billion. There is a need for a global economic plan that covers the whole world.

No. I've lived through enough bullshit to believe that something will always seem like our destruction is imminent.

In the 80's, there was a real fear that the US and USSR would blow the planet to smithereens. Kids were scared. Adults protested. Lines were drawn. Didn't happen. I was a teen and young adult then and after that I just can't get so worked up again.

I believe in the long-term view that humans are a blip in the evolutionary process and that when we are all destroyed - by our own actions or not - that the planet will simply evolve again into something new. Icy like Hoth? Done that. Playground for giant lizards? Yep, done that too. Who knows what's next? But we won't be here to see it.

Makes sense. Nice. I too believe war is coming with everything that is going on now and that makes me scared for my family. I cant help but think it is inevitable, like the world needs to reset the economy and war is their excuse for it. Dont you think the pandemic was an attempt to solve the global population boom? Tin foil hat time! 🤣

War is also a possibility. Even if the world is unipolar again, I think the economic problem arising from the human population will not change. We screwed up. Now we have to pay.

We, as a society, are currently staring a financial collapse, global war and death right in the face. Personally, I don't care at all, but I feel sorry for the few people who don't deserve such a fate, and also all the innocent animals - but I guess that's just par fo the course. We all need to perish somehow, in the end.

That already happened. 9/11, the war in Afghanistan, and the financial collapse of 2008. The media did a great job covering up all the casualties from what they referred to as a "recession". BS, that was a "Great Depression", and was still lingering on before COVID hit.

Previously, you didn't need a PhD in Finance to work as a cashier at McDonalds.

Im glad I'll be ctb before this ugly mess really hits the fan, which it will, very soon

War is possible only if you're in one of those geographic locations. There will be no nuclear war. Big corps run the west for the most part now. In the west, economic collapse is looming.

I think we're heading for lots of pain in this world. Maybe ww3 or a financial meltdown. I sense it started with the pandemic and the fall out has created a catalyst of unfortunate consequences. I dont wish to spread doom butxim seeing pain in peoples faces, probably like they see it in my face. Its so sad but we all die eventually, sooner or later, we return ro the soil.

Look up Dialectical Materialism, falling rate of profit & also check out Ted Kaczynski (Anti-Tech Revolution is way better than Industrial Society)

Yeah one way or another this whole thing will collapse, economic or war or climate change, who knows but it's too much shit and I feel like I've been watching it in real-time my whole life.

I'd bet we don't make it to 2100 but if we do it will be a completely different world, good luck to those willing to brave it.

i aint reading that schizo's writings.

Whatever, you're more closer to the truth if you read Marx.

He was mentally ill, I don't think it's really appropriate to call him a schizo or deride his academic work because of it especially on a mental health forum.

A lot of Marxists also suffered depression etc & how would you know who is right if you don't even know what the question is?

fair enough, still, investing time reading him is a waste of time. The majority of his readers/followers are right wing nutjobs.

The manifesto is really short though, but very boring. The guy was a skilled mathematician and admired in niche circles of universities for his work before going apeshit, so arguing against his intelligence would be retarded.

He was completely right about our technocratic society increasingly diminishing individual autonomy or freedom.

Reading the manifesto wouldn't be enough, you'd have to read previous anarco-primitivism authors such as Zerzan which is where he got all his ideas to fully understand him.

being knowledgeable in one area (in his case, maths) =/= being knowledgeable in history/politics.

I'd argue his high IQ was a curse in disguise. His school let him skip a grade due to his high IQ, which led him to being bullied and become even more mentally ill.

I argued about his unusual high intelligence as a positive in terms of lending his crazy ideas some credibility, not about his knowledge about history or politics.

In fact, knowledge of these domains only means erudition, not the ability to diagnose what we could change in modern society to make it less of a psychological hellscape.

Interesting reference, yeah it makes sense that he was standing on the shoulders of certain intellectuals when he embraced these ideas. Quite stupid ideas, by the way. We are stuck between a rock and a hard place: reactionary movements offer shit we already discarded for good reasons and progressivism is about being socially engineered by a sinister shadowy elite.
