Really? I thought full suspension would be easier to lose consciousness first? I'm afraid in partial, I would stand up while unconscious and end up brain dead instead

Once you go unconscious, that's it. Game over. Gravity does the rest. You don't have conscious control of your movements so they're not coordinated enough to do anything worthwhile. It's just lizard brain stuff

And you tried it but stopped? Why? Full or partial?
When I first tried partial suspension six years ago, it didn't take long for me to start losing consciousness. I stopped because 1. it was painful (I was using a belt) and 2. I didn't have the conviction to die yet.

I have been trying to force myself to lose consciousness by pressing the carotid with my finger, but it is hard as I can't keep it pressed for long enough. It happens fast, but it is not like "in a blink of an eye" fast.

There's the video of the Syrian girl who hanged herself. There are two spots where she makes a raspy gasp for air. Probably didn't use a slip knot or tie it properly.

You can see the movements are involuntary and ineffective plus there is the unnatural movements (posturing) which indicates brain stem damage. All of these movements are for naught, as she is unconscious. The only way she could have been saved is if someone intervened.

im no expert speaking from experience but I have read what can happen, If you are going for a full suspension you will most likely choke to death if done wrong but its not super common and even if it happens you probably wont last more than a a minute or 2 at most. it is a awful way to spend your last few minutes tho. also I dont know if anyone has made it to the point of still being awake but blood vessels will start popping in your face and eyes which I assume isnt a pleasant feeling. If you feel this pain its best to just lean back up and re position the knot and try again until you get a dizzy feeling. You will know when its the right spot because you will just feel like you are fading out.

The hardest thing with partial suspension is the survival instinct.
Survival instinct is absolutely, hands down, the worst.

When I tried to hang myself Robin Williams style, my goal was to cut off blood flow from my corotid arteries to my brain. Epic fail! Kept almost passing out then coming to. I gave up! I thought being drunk would lesson my panic response but it didn't work. The scariest part was feeling pressure in my skull and hearing my heart throb in my temples. Wasn't a plesent experience.

After going to bed that night, I woke up to one hell of a surprise - busted capillaries all over my face from my forehead to my neck! I freaked out! I tried to pass it off as a rash. That was my last attempt.

I noticed that a lot of famous people who successfully hung themselves had turkey necks! Skinny necks with their arteries poking out, I have a thick neck and my arteries are deep. Maybe that played a factor.

Gee, that's why I think full suspension would be better. The pressure has to cut off the artery, right?

Was it scary to go unconscious? What was your setup? Partial or full?
after reading a lot about short drop, I decided to try. I used a robe belt, fell unconscious immediately, about 3 second, but fell on the floor after hitting my head because the belt was old and could not stand my weight. When I tried again with other materials I could not reach unconsciousness. it wasn't scary at all, didn't see anything but when i woke up d ue to the fall I heard voices iñ my ears and found a bump on my temple

Yes. The pain for the few seconds before blacking out is the trade off for increased success rate.

You haven't considered full suspension?

It seems more painful and abhorrently 'scenic" so to say, while all the pics Ive seen of short drop deaths looked peaceful. Plus itsi logistically more complicated. I have to try short drop again soon. my situation is really fucked up and can't wait that much longer
Mine is fucked up as well. It just seems that short suspension might be harder to achieve

I believe that they are both difficult one way or another, but for me it is so difficult to find a place where I can accomplish full suspension plus I'm not alone in the house and there's always someone around so it's difficult to prepare a scenario like that for full suspension whilst short suspension can be achieved in a few minutes. for all of this I have to thank that f***** of my husband who has completely destroyed my life my children live, leaving me penniless. I have been suicidal before in my life and now it feels like I must commit suicide because there is really no other way out my life is a complete mess and I hate to do this because someone else f****** me over

Hey, if there's no other way out, then I understand suicide. I was facially disfigured and I used to be beautiful. People think I can just go on living life like nothing happened, but that's impossible. I don't want to die, but it's better than living like this. I just don't know how to do short suspension. I'm afraid my body will somehow get out of the noose while I'm unconscious and I'll be brain dead or some shit

I'd rather have that then
unfortunately suicide is difficult otherwise many more people would disappear that way if it was as easy as pushing a button for instance I would have done it a long time ago

Not necessarily.
then if there is a way you can make it easier for me please do explane because I've tried a few times andthe first time didn't work as I said because the belt broke and the other times I tried it was too painful very very painful and I could not reach any unconsciousness so I left it but I still want to do it
