I think working out can count as a routine in my case, as it's almost daily. Well and before my work outs I always drink the same energy drink and eat the same protein bar, while watching my favourite show lol. Seems dull I know, but I kinda like it. Idk, taking my supplements every day at the same time is also some sort of routine I guess. Though I know people, who have like full fletched beauty/ self care routines, which they enjoy and complete every day. I think that's pretty cool, routines in general provide you with some sort of stability and comfort, though they can also kinda trap you in a way and make you feel like you are living the same day over and over again

Taking my supplements makes me feel good. B12, B1, Fish oil, Iron -- I take them all at once. My skincare routine gives me comfort; washing face, applying hyaluronic acid, retinol, and moisturizer, and seeing my skin glow in the morning. I've spent hundreds of dollars on different products. It made me so happy.

When my life was more stable I would say my two primary rituals and routines were lifting weights and taking an evening shower to help unwind. Typically, this would have been followed by some reading or, for a few years, an episode or two of anime when I could still pay for streaming services. These things are now well out of reach.

Coffee in the morning. Grinding the beans, boiling the water, etc. etc.

But sometimes I hate it because it's a reminder that the day is starting and that I have to live through one more freaking day.

Forever Sleep

I often listen to the same piece of music to try and coax me to get up. And I generally go to sleep with the same ambiant music and rain soundtrack.

While it's not exactly a routine, I'll sometimes buy certain foods that remind me of the nicer parts of my childhood. Eating comforts me too. Although, not when it then piles on weight.

While it's not exactly comforting, I can't stand not having brushed my teeth. So- I suppose that's a routine morning and night- with a thorough brush and then rinse with mouthwash. That makes me feel more able to face the day.

Weirdly, putting on my trainers does too sometimes. I have so many times I feel like I can't face what's ahead. Even small tasks like housework. Putting on my trainers seems to tell myself I mean business.

I do basically the same thing, I always put on the same ASMR video to fall asleep too, it's comforting

Same, not having brushed my teeth just makes me feel unnecessarily uncomfortable.
I relate to feeling like not being able to face what's ahead, for me it's sometimes comparable with the feeling of intense dread. I've yet to find a coping mechanism

Wake up and breakfast.

Drink water.

Listen to post-rock and ambience when I'm out of home. Buuy a decent noise-cancelling headphone and put that TWDY on max (jk, not too high).

If you haven't bought the headphones yet, I can recommend the nothing (1)s, they have really solid noise cancellation. I mean the newest ones from Sony are obv better, but they just don't look as good imo, and they're way more expensive

I didn't know about that brand, looks pretty solid actually. I actually have an Edifier headphone, it is cheaper and the NC isn't the best, so I think on buying a new one in the future.

It's a pretty cool brand, I also only discovered it recently. I just like the aesthetics of their stuff a lot and their prices are decent

i do have a lot of rituals related to my OCD, but those obviously don't truly bring me comfort, only distress. i suppose i liked sitting outside in the morning with my caffeine, next to a little plant i took a liking to. i chatted with it like a friend, saying nice things to it that i know i wish people would've said to me. it may be weird, but i really appreciate and respect all life, big or small. but the plant disappeared about two weeks ago, i believe my family pulled it up thinking it was a weed, although it was not a harmful species. i'm still very sad about it.
i also talk to our trees that've been around since long before i was born. all this makes me sound like a total hippie lol. but truthfully i am just lonely, with no irl friends to spend time with. i like to slow down and appreciate the small things in life. it's something that helps me resist the urge to ctb. i love nature.

No I don't have the phone, but I also really like their designs. I would get it, but I just don't think that I could make the switch to Android

Idk, I don't think that's weird at all, it's a nice thing to do imo. I also sometimes just talk to things, which can't talk back to me. It's calming in a way, there was a time where I got very sentimental about random items. But I also love nature, I love just sitting somewhere, looking at landscapes. Right now the simple things are all I have anyway

I got to gym three times a week to go endurance training. I also do cold plunges in lake at winter.
Both will make my inner voice to shut the fuck up.
They say exercising is good for you mental health but my body cannot handle the amount my head requires.

Yeah, I work out 4 days a week, but honestly, it doesn't even work as a distraction anymore. It's great that you do a lot of physical activity tho

I try to spend my morning in prayer and gratitude before starting the day. Then, in the evenings I like watching TV or playing a chill video game before bed. Something like Red Dead Redemption, and just riding around on my horse and taking in the scenery.
